I just finished a major overhaul to my home theater & I spared no expense, including speaker wires & these top-notch banana plugs. The inner black packaging where the plugs reside is made of velvet - a very nice touch. The plugs themselves feel sturdy & extremely well made - great craftsmanship. They were super easy to set up (I used 14-gauge, oxygen-free, full copper MaxBrite wires). Many often complain about the Monster name/price, but I personally enjoy their superior quality & have no issues paying a few extra bucks here & there. The actual connection was super solid & the plugs have a very professional, rigid look to them. I highly recommend this product! Please note the before & after picture of my current speaker connection.

Simple to use. Unscrew the two halves, strip 5/8" speaker wire and twist, then shove through the base so wire will be able to fold over the teeth opening of the base and connect the actual plug by screwing it on. Plastic shielding of 14 gague wire was a bit snug, but some twisting worked just fine, and this way any tugging won't be on the actual wire itself...but the teeth should lock them into place anyway. Used these before w/ no issues. Snug fit into receiver or speakers. Seemed a better build quality than the RocketF brand on the shelves...worth the extra few bucks considering you won't ever buy another set.

I wanted sturdy and high performing banana plugs (this shouldn't be hard--but, alas, it is difficult). These plugs are a poor representation of what quality means. Very difficult for the wire to be retained by the plug. Coherent and complete instructions are lacking as well. Best Buy fails in many instances carrying quality accessories at a fair and reasonable price and maintaining stock. I and many others have to search online and buy from other vendors that offer quality and value. This is bad business for Monster Products and Best Buy.

They worked out ok. The hole where you put your copper speaker lead in the terminal is not quite big enough to be using 12ga wire or larger in. With the wattage I'm pushing with multichannel amps, is the reason I stepped up my wire size. That way I get full benefits of my system. I do however, like the twin banana jack terminals a lot better. That's what I really wanted, but the sales associate at Best Buy didn't care to see about ordering what I really wanted. That's what I asked for when I walked in the door.

I had read online that banana plugs were preferred for connecting outdoor speakers. And the Best Buy in-store rep said that these were worth the extra $. But the Geek Squad guys said that using the plugs outdoors were just one more thing to potentially corrode in the elements. So the Geek Squad just hard-wired four speakers (two sets of two in different locations outdoors) w/o the banana plugs. I returned the plugs and was refunded their cost no problem.

I have used these Monster gold tip banana plugs every since 2008. They're so reliable and give good clarity for sound. The performance of the gold tips gives such a crisp sound to my speakers surround sound that I feel like these are the best plugs on the market. Even though we're moving towards a more wireless movement in music if you still fantastic equipment like I do with my Monster Tower speakers I would suggest these wonderful accessories to compliment your surround sound system.

Easy to use banana plug. Only tools needed is wire stripper. Unscrew the sections and run the wire through the section with the hole in it. Fold back the stripped wire over the inner part of the serrated inner piece of that part of the plug. Make sure it's metal to metal. And the speaker sleeve is not in the way. Then reassemble and tug on the wire and the plug to make sure it is secure fit. Easy and quick.

I've long been a fan of banana clips for speaker connections. They simplify the entire process and I don't have to worry about them coming loose. I opted for the Monster brand as opposed to the Insignia brand for design and confidence reasons, plus these were on sale. It's very simple to connect the speaker wire to the banana clip and once the clip is set in the receiver input I feel as though I never need to worry about the connection again. Strongly recommended.
