Out of the blue one day, Mortimer Beckett receives a letter from an uncle he hasn't heard from in years. Inside the letter he finds a strange tale about a device, a missing starter unit and a mysterious foe. Perplexed, Mortimer sets out for his uncle's home. There, he must comb through the rambling old manor in search of a variety of objects that may help him solve the mystery surrounding his uncle. But the eerie manor holds a lot more in store than just what Mortimer seeks.
