The Motorola MB7420 high-speed 24x8 DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem supports speeds up to 1029 Mbps, twenty-four times faster than DOCSIS 2.0. A Full-Band Capture digital tuner ensures a faster, more reliable Internet. This attractive, compact design minimizes shelf space, improves cooling, and extends product life while looking great in any home or office. Connects to a computer, HDTV, game station, or wireless router. (This cable modem does not have a built-in wireless router or VoIP telephone adapter.)
Q: Is this modem compatible with comcast modem ???
A: It will replace the Comcast modem, but you will need a separate router.
A: I just purchased this modem and I have WOW internet (no cable, no home phone) and it has worked great! I did need to call them to activate it.
Q: Will this modem work well with a Internet speed of 600 mbps?
A: Short answer: Yes. I am paying for a 600 mbps download, 20mbps upload plan from my internet provider (Xfinity). According to speedtest.net, my plan and the Motorola MB7621 modem exceeds this easily with speeds in excess of 720 mbps/22 mbps. The speed test just completed as I prepared this reply is 735.24 mbps download, 24.02 mbps upload.
Q: Will this modem work well for internet speed of 200 mbps?
A: yes, my internet goes to 250 and 260 mbps and it works well
A: You would have to pay for an internet service (Comcast, Cox, etc.) to get internet. If you are not familiar with any of it, it'll be easier to just get these devices on rent from the service provider for an extra $10-12 per month. Otherwise you need to also buy a wifi router along with this device. Or else buy a wifi router combo device (MOTOROLA MG7540 is most popular) instead of buying this modem and a router separately. But before buying anything, make sure that your internet provider needs these devices (many providers have a different technology which doesn't need any of these devices). Good luck!
Q: Will this work with Mediacom
A: The approved modem list for Mediacom is extraordinarily short. While I see no reason that this wouldn't work as non-VOIP cable modem, this question needs to be posed to Mediacom directly.
Q: Does this modem have a port for a phone landline
A: No it doesn't..
Q: Does this modem work with COX?
A: Cox said they couldn’t use this modem with anything faster than 150MBs download speeds. They recommended buying a DOCSIS 3.1 modem if you want 500 MBS or faster like Gigablast
