WOW- fantastic phone for the price
Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.
I was in the market for a new, high quality phone, but i didnt want to spend over $700 just to get a decent phone. So when i saw this on sale for $300 it was a steal. I wasnt expecting much from this phone, but I am so IMPRESSED with the quality and amount of features on this phone. The camera is phenomenal, everything runs smoothly, battery life is fabulous, and theres features ive never had a phone before (note that im coming from lower end phones, so this is my first high end one). This phone seems to do almost everything that iphones and samsung flagships claim to do. I previously had a 2018 motorola phone from 2018 - 2020, and wow, what an upgrade from that one! Im so happy i didnt spend $1000 on a Samsung or iphone. I might just continue buying motorola phones!
This is probably the hands down best device I have used. Motorola has taken a huge step forward with their cameras and this is now competitive with the likes of $1000 samsungs and iphones. The battery is amazing, the screen is bright and easy to see outside, the camera is the best out there, and Ready For is a game changing feature.
The battery is 5000 mAh and is good for around a couple days of normal usage, I can get about 1.5 of heavy usage (playing pokemon Go, heavy messaging and photo taking, and using my hotspot). I couldn't imagine anyone killing this thing with anything remotely resembling reasonable use.
The display is 144 hz which makes things buttery smooth and is bright enough to see outside without trouble. I also love how Motorola went away from the curved display and to a flat one. It is better for durability and opens up more options for screen protectors
The camera is crazy good, way better than any other camera Motorola has included on any other device. Its an 108 mp Ultrapixel camera that takes amazing shots in most any light (see attached photos for samples). It is also flanked by an ultrawide (pulls double duty as a macro shooter as well) and a depth sensor for that nice depth of field effect in your portrait photos.
Ready For is honestly a game changing feature. it allows for a wired or wireless desktop experience on your device via either a smart tv (anything that works with with miracast) or a PC/Laptop via USB (you can even share your smartphones internet connection) or wirelessly over wifi. This is a great option for people who don't want to bring their work to a personal device or people who don't want to pay for a connected laptop or hotspot device while still having data.
Again, I can not recommend this device enough It is fast, there is no added bloat, the software is fast and clean. Whats not to love?
I caught this phone on sale and so far it's been a great phone! I love the long battery life and the fast charging. I love all the Moto gestures. The side power button finger print reader is great and very responsive too. The camera also takes really good pictures. And I love that it comes with plenty of storage to meet my needs. Overall, this is a great phone but even better if you can catch it on sale.
First off I got it on sale for the 500, and this phone is packing even with it being a LCD screen it's plenty bright, Motorola has such a simple layout with no bloatware on it. No expendable storage which is fine as it comes with 256gigs and 8gb of ram and a nice little hidden feature is the ram boost which shoots it up to 10gb of ram. The 144hz screen is definitely a plus and the steal of the show is the camera it has. I went from a OnePlus 8 to this and watching Netflix and such is definitely better and can see the screen better in the sunlight. The battery is huge and lasts well over a day on hardcore usage and then the 30watt charging gets you back up in a matter of minutes. Wouldn't buy at full price due to LCD screen but definitely a steal on sale.
My new Nebular Blue 2021 Motorola Edge Phone is alright. My other Phone is a Motorola Moto Z. The only
Different between the 2 is $$. My first
Phone, Moto Z, had only 128 GB of

I bought the Z phone in 2015. That
shows how blaightenly the Edge has

Description. It's like a Samsung high on priced phone, too.
A very solid phone from Motorola. It is a large phone though, I mean large. The screen is good when looking directly at it but since it's an LCD screen the viewing angles are terrible. Plenty of storage with 256GB and a mid range Qualcomm processor, 778G and 8GB of ram. It's not a slow phone by any means but not the fastest of the bunch. Motorola's version of Android is near stock and has some nice added features. Have always loved the chop for flash light and the twist to fire up the camera. Camera picture quality is probably middle of the road as far as smart phone cameras go with some nice additions for taking special photos. Motorola updates are a whole other story. This phone was released with Android 11 when Android 12 was just around the corner the following month. Android 12 was pushed to the phone recently, (released in April 2022) not sure when it finally made it to the US version, but since this phone was purchased recently, it has been updated to 12. This phone will not be getting Android 13 which is not a huge upgrade from 12 but to only have one version upgrade and supposedly getting three years of bi-monthly security updates is the same old same old from Motorola.
Purchase was a Father’s Day gift which he wanted… been hinting to us and we surprised him as usual. Well, doing his switching, he did not like that this updated phone does not have a SD card slot. However, 256gb looks rewarding enough to overlook that setback. Switching from a 64gb with expandable sd card was isn’t so bad, this far. May come back later for an update hence recent purchase.

Motorola Edge (2021) review: Improvements where they matter mostMotorola launched a pair of Edge phones in 2020 that stood out for their “waterfall” displays. But it wasn't the flagship that we preferred of the two. Instead, we were impressed by the more modest Edge. It wasn't perfect, but you got a lot of

Motorola Moto Edge (2021) ReviewA lot changes in a year. In 2020, we recommended the $699.99 Moto Edge to anyone looking for 5G connectivity for under $1,000. The 2021 edition of the Moto Edge carries the same price, but 5G connectivity no longer carries the same premium. That
Moto Edge review (2021): this phone has lost its edgeLast year, after a long absence, Motorola finally re-entered the Android flagship space with the $999 Moto Edge+, a no-compromise, glass and aluminum smartphone packed with all the specs. A:AnswerThanks for your interest, CritterKeeper, and sorry for the misinformation. If you look at the specifications page of the Motorola Edge 2021 on our website here: https://www.motorola.com/us/smartphones-motorola-edge-gen-2/p, the device does not have an SD Card slot. - Mike
A:AnswerThanks for your interest, Mark. This is the Motorola Edge (2021) and it is not the US version of the Motorola Edge20 or Edge20 Pro. This device is different when it comes to specifications.
The Motorola Edge (2021) has 5,000 mAh of battery size and has a 6.8" LCD display size.
While the Motorola Edge 20 has a battery size of 4,000 mAh and has a 6.7" OLED display. Lastly, the Motorola Edge 20 Pro has a 4,500 mAh of battery size and has a display size of 6.7" OLED display.
Also, we still don't have any information to share if the Motorola Edge 20 or Edge 20 Pro will be released in the US. Thanks. - Mike
A:AnswerAs a owner and user of the phone, when on my asus router that has wif6 band the phone shows its on wifi 6 mode and is crazy fast, so in my user point of view yeah believe it does. If I switch to my other set up on the older router the speed test and wifi6 indicator on the phone drops a lot...
A:AnswerHi Roughonphones, Thank you for your inquiry. Moto Edge 2021 phone uses hardened scratch resistant glass. Yes, you use a gesture to split the screen. You can check this link for the phone specifications here: https://www.motorola.com/us/smartphones-motorola-edge-gen-2/p?skuId=631. -Mitch
A:AnswerQuite favorably. The biggest difference comes down to the screen tech and the refresh rate. The Samsungs use OLED which provides deeper blacks and extra contrast while the Motorola uses IPS LCD which is much more color accurate and provides a higher refresh rate (think smoothness when scrolling) than the galaxy's panel. IPS LCDs are also not subject to burn in and do not degrade over time like OLED screens do so if its a device you want to keep for a longer time this screen will hold up better than an OLED.
