A: So far my answer is yes. Mine is under a covered porch as well and I have plenty of activity at my front door and have not needed to change battery.

Q: Can you sit Solar panel in sunlight BEFORE mounting * attaching Ring? It's a 1st Gen.
A: Yes. The solar output from the small cells would not create any major amperage that would cause any issue. If you are really concerned, just take some tape and wrap the two lines separately to keep from touching anything or each other until you are ready to hook it up.

A: No it doesn't work work with doorbell 3. Not woth the money. I wish I could return it but I don't have the receipt and it is passed 30 days.
A: Hi JMR0427. Great question! Yes, the Ring Doorbell solar chargers can be used with a wedge kit or a corner kit. However, only one wedge or one corner mount is recommended. Stacking more than one wedge or corner mount changes the angle of the doorbell and can cast a shadow on the solar charger, making it less effective.
