Q: Is a 32gb i5 faster then a 16gb i7 for gaming???

A: That's a very silly question to ask. RAM has NOTHING TO DO WITH SPEED! RAM = Random Access Memory, in non-technical terms that means- Storage space on your PC where applications and games can STORE information and data from which they can INSTANTLY access it so it doesn't have to re-load it every time. To make that even easier to understand I'll give 2 examples 1- Browser tabs, each tab is saved into memory especially by chrome.. So when you have 50 tabs open that's xxx MB / GB in memory stored in your memory so when you switch between those 50 tabs it doesn't have to reload them every time, also because of this when chrome crashes you get an option to restore all your tabs. 2- Games put stuff into memory such as models, inventory, items, locations, enemies, etc. For example if you play mmorpg, first time you open inventory it usually takes a split second to load but then all items are saved into memory so when you open it next time it opens instantly without having to load in all the items in ur inventory again, same with certain models and such. There's a lot more to it than that but that's just simple explanation. that said, do keep in mind that most games and applications have a limit to how much memory they can use so... HONESTLY i do NOT see why anybody would need 32 GB of RAM especially in a laptop. I have a BAD habit of never closing google chrome tabs and even then I have only 16GB of RAM and never have issues with using too much ram and no game ever will use more than about 10GB of RAM, more often than not they use less unless they have SERIOUS memory leak. Most games even games like GTA 5 stick to usign aroudn 5-6GB of RAM. As far as processing speed goes... Which i5 which i7??? There's so much to processors besides class name... there's 7 generatiosn of i5's and i7s, but generally speaking i5 has faster core speed and i7 has more cores and can handle multi threat operations better. To put it into perspective, i5 is a 4 cylinder 2.4 liter engine which can do 1-60mph in 3 seconds, i7 is a semi truck with 12 cylinder engine which doesn't get much speed unless you turbo charge it but it can hull more weight and is more heavy duty. There is no clear answer which is better, i5 or i7... it entirely depends on a game. Some games use i7 multi thread better but some games put all load on 2 cores and then i5 performs better. So it's all a matter of choice. i5 is good i7 is good both are good, and amount of RAM is down to personal choice but do keep in mind, the MOST IMPORTANT part of GAMING is GRAPHIS CARD! CPU is important and RAM is too but do keep in mind that main rendering and such is done by GPU (graphics processing unit) so when it comes to i5 vs i7 look at graphics cards and prices then decide :)
