Great 4070 TI Video Card from MSI
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from an Asus Strix 1080 to the MSI 4070 TI Ventus 3X OC 12GB DDR6X video card for 1440p gaming. Performance is outstanding! I am able to use Ultra settings and get 70's FPS (or greater) especially with DLSS. For some games (especially older games or lower quality settings), you may need to turn ON vertical sync to ensure smooth gameplay! My monitor's refresh rate is (only) 144 Hz and this card can produce FPS greater than 144 depending on the game / settings. Having to turn ON vertical sync was a surprise for me! Some PRO's for me are: 1) Size - much "thinner" than other 4070's - only takes up ~2.7 slots. Length is not any longer than expected. Just a hair longer than my Asus 1080 Strix. 2) Power consumption - only requires 2x 8 pin power connectors. Be sure to install the power dongle on the card prior to installing on the motherboard. Also make sure the dongle is fully seated. (There is NOT a noticeable click.) 3) Temperature - the max temperature I've recorded was 65 degrees C during intense game play. 4) Quiet - No detectable whine. Just a little louder than my Asus Strix 1080 but not loud at all. This card "quiets down" much faster than the 1080 even with stock fans settings. 5) No LED's!!! Woo Hoo! My only Con is with the included Support Bracket. In my experience / opinion a support bracket for a 2.7 bracket wide card is not needed. My Asus Strix 1080 card was just a bit smaller and did not have any issues. Sure for a 3.5 slot or wider card a support bracket may be necessary. I did install the Support Bracket however. The bracket is placed over the "top" of any existing cards or empty slot covers and held in place by your existing screws. We ended up using scotch tape on the outside of the covers for the empty slots in order to hold everything in place. (This was actually my wife's good idea.) Made installation of the support bracket that much "easier". See attached picture. (Don't forget to remove the scotch tape afterwards.) Finally the support bracket is generic and has a foam resting pad. There isn't a notch / cutout on the card for the support bracket. The support bracket feels very much like an afterthought by MSI which probably made one type of support bracket for ALL of its video cards. Summary - Excellent video card for 1440p game play at Ultra settings. Smaller than similar cards. Quiet and power efficient. Highly recommended!

Amazing 1440p Card with Some Surprising 4K Results
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To be clear, this card is meant for 1440p gaming, and it nails it right out of the box. It can do 4k, but it comes with some caveats. There were a lot of games I ran at max settings at 4k and it barely even flinched. Then, there were others where I would hit my VRAM limit and still have GPU head room based on utilization. Again, don't buy this card expecting to be able to run every game at 4k max settings. That was not my reasoning for it, but when I tested it out on a 4k TV I was pleasantly surprised by how well it handled it. At my desk, running at 1440p.. this thing absolutely smashes whatever you throw at it. I could put benchmark numbers for every game on here, but you can find those online anywhere. However, I will highlight one game that surprised me the most. The Medium was a majorly GPU heavy title that, when it would break into rendering two worlds simultaneiously, it would absolutely tank any GPU. At 1440p, max settings with full ray tracing, this card barely even dropped to 60 in the split world. When it wasn't rendering two worlds, it was basically a locked 120. In summary, if you're looking for a card that can handle any game you play at 1440p, max settings with max raytracing, this card is the definitive solution. DLSS 3 is an absolute treat, especially for CPU limited titles that break even the best CPUs out there (looking at you Witcher) and the statements about frame generation latency are overblown. I wouldn't use frame gen on a competitive FPS shooter, but using it in Flight Sim is really handy and makes for a nice smooth experience for something that might otherwise be really choppy at times. If you already have a 4k monitor/TV and are looking at this card, then I don't think you'll be disappointed. You just might need to lower your settings, resolution and expectations for some games that are really heavy on VRAM usage. P.S. - This is a pretty beefy card. If you have a micro ATX (like mine) or an ITX case, you might have to do some extra work. I knew based on the specs it would fit in my case, but I wasn't expecting to have to remove my air cooler to angle it in there. That is not a knock on the manufacturing, just something to keep in mind if you have a smaller case. It's 308mm long which is about 12.2inches, and you might as well add another .25-.5 inch due to the mounting bracket. Pros: - 1440p with max settings and raytracing don't even make this card sweat - 4k gaming is better than expected in most scenarios - DLSS 3 is really handy for games that are poorly optimized - Stock thermals are really great: 70c most of the time but never broke 80c Cons: - Not a great price, but is the best value in the current market - 4k gaming is not as great with VRAM heavy games

Great card at an alright price.
|Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic card, runs extremely cool, minimal noise and not overly huge like other 40XX cards. Tackles 1440p gaming with ease. Fits into practically any case and with it's monochrome and lack of RGB can fit any color scheme well without the over gamery gimmicks most manufactures are using now. Ended up upgrading to a RTX 4080 Ventus 3x OC as I liked this design so much, but wanted the 16GB VRAM for future proofing, but would 100% recommend this card if you can't swing for a 4080. Wanted to knock one star off of value, not because of MSI priced this poorly but due to Nvidia's pricing on these cards. This is the best price to performance 4070 Ti out and is a fantastic value. I just wish Nvidia wasn't trying to nickel and dime everyone.

Do your research
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read all the media about this card being overpriced and was skeptical. But after doing the research, considering the specs, cost, power consumption, etc., I felt it was the best value. So I went ahead and upgraded from a GTX 1080 to this one. 4 hours into it and I love it. On MW2 I am getting 170-200 FPS on 1440p with graphics at the recommended settings (I think close to ultra), and it isn't going above 62c. I have it paired with a 13700k and 32gb of ddr4 at 3600mhz. All in a 4000D case. Does it suck spending $800 on a GPU? Yes. But does my new (and first) build run and feel like I got my moneys worth ($2500)? Yes, yes it does. FYI, I didn't know that plate that came with it was to support it. Install it underneath the GPU. There is nothing in the box about that. Only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 starts on ease of use.

Great card, a little pricey.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just upgraded to a brand new PC and originally installed a 3080 Ti. Then this card released and I decided to grab it. Not only is it $260 cheaper than a 3080 Ti, but performance is better. I have not had any issued with it at all and its a great upgrade for those looking for a top of the class GPU for 1440p gaming.

A GPU that can run any game and stay cool!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome Graphics card! This is my first card in my first pc and I love it! It handles any game I played so far and all those games were recent AAA titles. I run this card in a HYTE Y60 and the graphics card hasn't gone over 55 degrees Celsius in game. I would definitely recommend this card as the performance for the price is fantastic!

Dont listen to all the youtubers
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from a 3070ti to this card and can immediately see the difference. My old card was a little louder than this one and was less powerful. I can run cod at max settings in 4k around 85-95 frames per second. I originally had a ROG Strix 3070ti and got it for 699 i think for 150 more bucks this card was definitely worth it. Just do your research and listen to unbias people.

Q: Questionis this card ok with a i7-8700 and a 650 watt psu ???
Asked by Anon.
- A:Answer 8th Gen is almost 6 years old now, and if your 650W PSU is same vintage then this may be a good opportunity to upgrade it to a new 750W model. If your 650W unit is less than 4 years old and certified 80 plus Gold or better, then it's probably fine as long as you're not overclocking.
