A: AnswerYes. Just moved and switched to optimum and got this modem/router combo to replace the one I was renting from them. Added the MAC address to my optimum account and it synced right up, didn’t even have to call them!Answered by MattyP

- A: AnswerThe Netgear CAX30S does not support Xfinity Voice. If you need a modem/router combo that supports voice functionality, you'll be out of luck with Netgear. Their current modems that offer voice support are hardwired router only. You will need an external wireless router for wi-fi.

A: AnswerFrom the research I just did looking it up on Google, you can connect 64 devices, 32 on each band of this duel bandwidth (2.4Gh and 5Gh) on this router, it also says you can connect 96 devices on a tri-brand router, I live by myself so it works for my 2 tvs, cell and game system plus my Blu-ray/Dvd player, anyway I pray this helped.Answered by Mark

great route\modem
this Netgear works great! I had a few issues with the setup as the nighthawk app said to connect to Wi-Fi and when I connected it always would say connected without internet. so I then opened a web page on my desktop and the spectrum activation page came up I put my credentials in clicked replace modem and put my Mac address in and within 5 minutes I was up and running. I've already noticed the speed difference. my old Motorola cable router modem would give me about 866 MB on 5G now I get 1.2 GHz on my 5g. I'm glad I got this Netgear it's Wi-Fi 6 wpa3 dos CIS 3.1 I will be future-proofed for quite a while.

Netgear Cax30 review
Excellent product with a few "gotchas". Shared network USB media requires older windows protocol to work, thus opeing up security issues in Windows, to even work. Netgear should upgrade their firmware to include this. VPN is also a challenge. Other than this, other features work great.

Great Router/Modem!
This is a wonderful Router/Modem combination. After my service provider updated their system, my old router and modem would no longer work with it. The Netgear Nighthawk AX2700 proved to be an excellent solution for me. The setup was hard for me, but my son came over and straightened it right out. Since then, it has worked great!
