Q: How many cameras/channels does it have?
A: Good Afternoon. This is a 16 Channel DVR with a 1 TB HDD. It is a standalone DVR, and does not come equipped with any cameras. You can pick and choose Night Owl cameras to add. It is compatible with our analog, 720p, 1080p and 3MP cameras. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!
A: Good Afternoon, this is a great replacement DVR for your current Night Owl system, it does come with a 1TB HDD which does not require to be formatted. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!
A: Once you have connected all your cameras to your DVR, you will need to connect the DVR through an HDMI cable to your monitor/TV to be able to view them. You will also be able to view your cameras remotely through your smart device by downloading the specific application for the system. Thank you for choosing Night Owl.
Q: Does the Night Owl Record from Apple TV & a Digital local signal
A: We not able to guarantee compatibility with 3rd party products. This DVR records to a pre-installed HDD. If you wish to remotely view the system on a Smart Device (smartphone or tablet) you will need to have the DVR connected to your router or modem. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!
Q: Can wireless camera be used in this dvr?
A: No. This DVR is not compatible with our wireless cameras. We do sell some Hybrid solutions that are compatible with both wired and wireless cameras. Q: Can I hook this up to a television, record live tv, and do away with my DVR cable box?

Q: Will this DVR support external hard drive for more storage like WD or Seagate ? up to how many TB?
A: Night Owl's DVRs/NVRs can accommodate up to a 6TB hard drive. Our DVRs are compatible with internal SATA HDD's, 2.5" or 3.5". The HDD should have a minimum of 7200 RPM. We are not able to guarantee compatibility with external hard drives at this time. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!
