I own a Nikon D750 with several lenses that I love but wanted a small camera that was easy to take on short trips and use at events where I didn't want to haul all my gear. The Nikon 1 is a great little camera and, with an optional FT1 adapter, I can use my F-mount lenses on the Nikon 1 to get a 2.7x equivalent focal length. For example, my 70-200 mm zoom becomes a 189-540mm zoom--great for shooting wildlife and sports. Other small interchangeable lens cameras with slightly larger ASP-C sensors may offer slightly better image quality, but none offer the flexibility of using F-mount lenses. I've been very satisfied with the image quality coming from by Nikon 1 J5 and highly recommend it, especially if you are already a Nikon DSLR owner.

The Nikon 1 J5 is an awesome addition to the Nikon 1 line of cameras. I am an avid amateur photographer and often lug my Nikon D610 everywhere. I was always impressed with the performance of the J1 I bought my girlfriend a while ago, but didn't pull the trigger on buying myself one until I saw the J5 announced. From it's multiple dials to make manual setting a lot easier (like a DSLR) to it's fantastic performance, and incredible specs (60 fps!!! with focus lock) to it's great retro styling, I love this camera and take it everywhere with me now. While the sensor is smaller then most other mirrorless cameras, only it's low light performance suffers a little from it.

These days everyone uses their smartphone. But for those who want intricate shots, get a real camera that offers all the bells and whistles. This camera has many capabilities and mode options that can help anyone who knows about cameras, and for those who simply want to take an impossible shot from a long distance. GREAT color and the image looks vivid and fresh (again depending how you take the shot: mode, aperture, setting, etc.). It is a great camera for beginners! You can also switch lenses with other Nikon lenses if you desire. And with its adjustable touch screen, you can flip it to take a... selfie.

This camera is a good companion to have in your bag for daily photo journaling.. If you want the flexibility of shooting in RAW and need control over all aspects of your photo without carrying around your traditional DSLR, this is a good option. Be aware though, you will need to purchase Nikon 1 lenses or the adapter ring that will allow you to use F mount lenses.

This camera is very fast in good light. The picture quality is very good also. It is not quite as good or as fast in low light though. Also, when shooting movies and taking many continuous photos, the camera has a tendency to overheat and either lock up or shut itself down. Other than that it is a good camera that is very fast and very easy to use.

Switched from old DSLR which was 6+ years old. After a lot of researching, I decided to go with Mirrorless cameras as they are lightweight (making it easier to carry). Chose Nikon as other brands had a lot of negative reviews about their lenses. Its compact, easy to use and the picture quality is terrific!!

Haven't seen a bad picture yet. Clear, crisp photos with just the auto setting, saved raw. Just got the camera and I haven't had a lot of time to run it through its settings. So far I love it!

Priced at a truly scary US$4,250, the Leica Q looks very limited on paper. It seems like a travesty to take a gorgeous full-frame sensor and saddle it with a single, fixed 28mm lens. But the combination allows for a very compact and light design,Full Review
