Nima - Peanut Sensor - Black

Say yes to travel, dining out, catered meals and packaged food. The Nima Peanut Sensor allows you to test your food for peanuts - anytime, anywhere, in minutes. It's portable and easy to use. Simply place food into the test capsule, insert the capsule into the sensor, and press start.

• Prepare sample: Dilute thick and dense foods, brightly-colored foods, or dry and powdery foods 1:1 with water, and ensure your sample size is approximately 0.3g or the size of a pea.
• Run test: Use clean hands to twist off the top of a new capsule, place a pea-size amount of food into the capsule, and then fully close the top with a click. Twist the top until the colored ring vanishes and the edge is aligned with the side.
• Read results: If you see a smile icon, no peanut protein has been detected. If a plant icon and the words Peanut Found show up, you'll know to avoid the food. An error may also appear if there is an issue with the sample size or capsule.
• Antibody chemistry: Detects if 10 ppm peanut traces are present. Then, the sensor can display the results.
• Battery life: The battery can perform around 40 tests, or live for three months when it's not in use. Use a USB 1.0 or 2.0 micro charger to recharge.
• Use caution with peanut oil: Test peanut oil or dishes that may be cooked in peanut oil. Peanut oil is refined enough that the peanut protein is broken down. It should not affect people with peanut allergies, but if there is peanut remaining Nima may detect it.
• Use caution with chocolate: You can test melted chocolate, chocolate mousse and chocolate powder with the Nima Peanut Sensor. Solid chocolate in blocks or chips should not be tested.
