A complete packagePosted .
This brush is packed with features that will help you get one of the cleanest brushed you've ever had. The AI mode using your phone to show which areas you're neglecting in real-time is so useful, and something I didn't think I needed until I tried it. Not just a gimmick, it actually has made my mouth noticeably cleaner. Pairing with my phone was extremely easy and fast. There were no hassles whatsoever in setup. It comes with 3 brush heads to try as well. All worked well for the specific tasks, though I may be a bit partial to how clean I felt after using the "whitening" brush. An extra bonus with this brush is the travel case, that also doubles as a charger, and includes storage for two brush heads and even includes a spot to charge your phone as well. Very well-thought out. The brush itself takes a bit for a full charge, but you can simply store it on the charger, otherwise though, the battery lasts for quite a while. At least two weeks for me, with brushing twice daily for about two minutes each time. Also worth noting, is that even if you're not using the AI brushing, it also records your time brushing, which are stored on the brush and can be synced to your phone in batches. It also warns about applying too much pressure while brushing with a beep and red light on the handle. You can also have the app create an Amazon Dash button and automatically reorder your brush heads once you're due. While overall I really like this brush, there are a couple things that do detract from it being perfect. First, the brush is fairly loud. I often go to bed after my wife, and I've woken her a few times from brushing my teeth. It's louder than other powered brushes I've used in the past. Secondly, the brush head is "taller" than other brushes. When I say taller, I mean from the tip of the bristles to the back of the brush head, so maybe it would be better classified as depth. But with the rotating action and more round nature of the head, I do think it works better than the others I've used. Pros: Great features, AI assisted brushing, pressure sensor, good battery life, thorough cleaning with rounded brush head, great companion app, excellent travel/charging case Cons: Louder than other powered brushes, taller/deeper than normal brush headsI would recommend this to a friend

Works great, as expectedPosted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.
Pretty expensive but seems to be well made. App isnt great but works ok.. i would imagine a less smart cheaper unit would physically work just as well as a toothbrush. With that being said This is my first real powered bush and could instantly tell a difference in my teeth, especially below the gumline. I purchased this unit for that particular reason due to my dentist suggesting one to help get in there better. After about a month of use gums and teeth are already looking and feeling better such a huge difference over a standard vibrating brush (the cheap 7$ ones) Absolutely recommend, really like to see the app updated but its good encouragement to brush roughly three minutes before its satisfied that you've done a good job.

I'm lovin' it!Posted .
OK - I have to admit that I'm loving my Oral-B Genius X 10000 toothbrush. I'm a long time "hand brusher", so was excited to finally give an electric toothbrush a try. I'm impressed - and my teeth feel cleaner than when done by hand. I even think they look more white than before - but admittedly it's hard to tell. Brush handle itself is ergonomic and light, with 6 cleaning modes and comes with an awesome case and 3 brush heads. The charge lasts easily a week as I just took it to Europe with me without the charger and had no issues at all! Great features like pressure sensitivity, built in timer, and Artificial Intelligence make this brush really stand out. Download the Oral-B app for you phone and it will sync all your previous brushings and let you know how you are doing. Take your phone into the bathroom with you and it will show you via bluetooth where you are brushing and when it is clean (by showing glowing white teeth in that area). It's amazing accurate at depicting where your brush head is in your mouth - so actually pretty cool! There are lots of features like coaching, a results page to see you often you are brushing (see image), tracks your average brush time and more! If you are looking for a toothbrush upgrade - this could easily be the one for you!I would recommend this to a friend

A sensible upgrade to a great smart toothbrushPosted .
There is no doubt that an electric toothbrush can do wonders for your dental health. A few years ago, I made the switch over to a smart toothbrush and while I’ve been very happy with the results, I know there is always room for improvement. That’s why I was excited to have the opportunity to test out the Oral-B Genius X, which is a really nice updated smart toothbrush from the Oral-B Pro 6000 that I had before. One thing that struck me as odd was the very subtle differences in the Smart Toothbrush models. For example, the Pro 6000 and Genius X both have a 2-week battery life while the Pro 7000 does not. It’s strange to me that the Pro 6000 is actually more feature-rich than the model above it. I also found it strange that the only real difference between the Pro 6000 and the Genius X is that the Genius X has an AI-driven smart coach. The “smart coach” is actually built into the app so if you don’t have the toothbrush connected, it’s really the same product as the Pro 6000. That said, the brush feels really good in the hand. The handle is robust and makes it really easy to control the product. It’s easy to use. You simply turn it on and start using it. You have the option to activate the timer on the handle of the toothbrush. The toothbrush does do a great job of cleaning your mouth, but I feel as though this model isn’t worth the fifty dollar increase in price between the Pro 6000 and the Genius X. If you want the advanced features, you can connect the toothbrush to the app. It’s not 100% essential for the operation of the toothbrush, but it does provide virtual coaching for the user to ensure they are brushing properly and getting the most out of the toothbrush. Oral-B refers to the app as a ‘digital coach’ and states that it’s designed to help users brush the way dental professional recommends. The A.I. brushing recognition is part of the app (as mentioned above) and it’s meant to make sure that you cover every area - every time you brush. The app is available to use with Genius 8000, 9000, and X brushes - so it’s not exclusive to the Genius X. Some of the features of the app include the personalized coaching, pressure control, and brushing activity achievements. Again, I feel like while the app provides a lot of added value, I’m not sure it warrants the extra expense of the brush handle itself. If you haven’t ever owned an electric toothbrush, this wouldn’t be a bad one to start with, but if you already have one of the Oral-B brushes, I’m not sure about upgrading.I would recommend this to a friend

Does an Amazing Job of Cleaning My Teeth!Posted .
---HIGHLIGHTS--- Top-Notch Cleaning Performance, Full Featured Toothbrush and Versatile Travel Case, Phone App, Includes 3 Unique Brush Heads ---DESIGN AND USE--- One of the things I immediately noticed was the LED lights that flash when the toothbrush is being operated. It is a very impressive presentation. This toothbrush can be used with or without the App. The App utilizes artificial intelligence to monitor and coach your daily brushing habits. There are 6 available brushing modes (daily, gum care, whitening, sensitive, pro clean, tongue cleaning). Included is a solid travel case that will adequately protect the toothbrush while traveling. The case has a USB port that can even be used to charge the toothbrush and a cell phone at the same time. I have been using this toothbrush for over a week without charging and it is sill going strong. I expect that it can go about 2 weeks on a single charge. ---CONCLUSION--- This is my first Oral B toothbrush and I am very impressed with the performance. Yes, it is expensive but feature for feature, this toothbrush exceeds anything on the market today. The toothbrush and included accessories are very high quality. This toothbrush is very well designed and includes all the features you would expect at this price point. Features aside, this toothbrush does an amazing job of cleaning my teeth! If you find the artificial intelligence and App functions valuable, then it is certainly worth the investment.I would recommend this to a friend

Excellent toothbrush but the app disappointedPosted .
I’m a long time user of the sonic-powered competition. I tried Oral-B many years ago but it was one of the lower end models and I wasn’t really impressed at the time. In fairness, this was over a decade ago, so I decided to give Oral-B another try to see if it could sway my opinion and possibly even convince me to switch brands. This Genius X package comes with the brush body, a charging stand, power cord, carrying case/smartphone stand and three brush heads. The carrying case can accommodate the brush body and two heads. It can charge the brush inside the case and also doubles as a holder for smartphones while brushing. It also has a USB charging port that allows the case to be used to charge a smartphone or other USB equipped device along with the brush. I get just under two weeks of use between charges with twice daily use. The included brush heads are the cross-action, floss action and 3D white brushes. The cross and floss action brushes focus on plaque removal and gum care while the 3D white brush focuses on polishing and whitening teeth. The set was easy to setup, charge and sync with the Oral B Bluetooth app on my phone. The toothbrush is easy and intuitive to use. Just push the power button and, if desired, select a brushing mode. I typically use the default mode which is two minutes in duration and has vibrating and audible alerts to remind me to switch brushing quadrants. The six brushing modes are the default daily mode, gum care, whitening, sensitive, pro clean and tongue cleaning. There is a customizable light ring on the brush that can be set to a desired color and glows red when too much pressure is applied. I like that the brush stays on even after the two minutes has elapsed. My former brush would shut off automatically after two minutes but I often wanted to brush a little longer. I really like the style and action of the brush heads. My biggest complaint with my sonic toothbrush was that the size and shape of the brush head made it difficult to effectively reach my back teeth. As a result, no matter how much I brushed and flossed those teeth, my dentist always informed me that the pocket depths around my farthest back teeth were deeper than the other teeth. That indicates more plaque was accumulating on those teeth than the others. The smaller round head of the Oral-B allows me to reach even the farthest back teeth with ease and properly massage the tooth and gum line back there. I’m really looking forward to my next dentist appointment in February to see whether the switch to Oral-B improves the pocket depth on my back teeth. The rotating head also seems better at polishing my front teeth. My sonic toothbrush was actually less effective at whitening my teeth than my manual brush. Every couple weeks or so I would switch back to a manual toothbrush for a few days to make my teeth whiter. So far, the Oral B is doing a great job of whitening. The Bluetooth enabled app is the only area where this toothbrush falls short to me. The app paired easily with the brush and maintains a reliable connection but it’s downhill from there. Honestly, I feel the only useful feature of the app is the head replacement reminder that alerts you when it’s time to replace the brush head, usually after 90 days. I was initially excited to use the coaching feature of the app but it’s too unreliable to be truly useful. The AI brushing monitor is supposed to keep you on track with brushing and help motivate and promote better brushing habits. The app also keeps a daily log of brushing and awards badges for brushing milestones and achievements and can generate brushing reports for export to PDF. My main issue with the app is that it frequently misses areas I brush or indicates the wrong area being brushed. For example, sometimes I will be actively brushing my lower right quadrant and the app will indicate I’m brushing the upper right quadrant. Sometimes it doesn’t detect brushing at all. I once brushed for nearly five minutes and the app didn’t detect any areas being brushed. I tried switching the brush position, rotating the brush handle, moving the phone closer to the brush and repeatedly brushing one area for a lengthy period. I never saw any teeth highlighted as being actively brushed in the app. When I finally stopped brushing, the app said it couldn’t record the session because I didn’t brush for at least thirty seconds. Even if it didn’t properly detect the areas I brushed, it should have at least recorded that the brush was on and brushing for five minutes. Instead, it failed to log that I even brushed at all. I know the brush was connected to the app because the timer kept running the entire time and I saw occasional flickers of the teeth being brushed but never a solid indication. I originally planned to share my brushing reports with my dentist but the results are too unreliable to do so. There are also entries in the app for flossing, mouthwash and gum bleeding that also don’t seem to work correctly. The app occasionally asks me if my gums bled after brushing but it’s very inconsistent. Out of five sessions, I may get asked once. I have no idea how to enter the data for flossing, mouthwash rinse and tongue cleaning. The app never asks me about those categories and, like the gum bleed category, there is nowhere in the app to manually enter the data. App aside, I like this Oral-B brush. I like it so much that I gave my top-of-the-line sonic toothbrush to my wife, with new heads of course. I like how the Oral-B can easily hit specific teeth and reach the farthest back teeth of my mouth without difficulty or constantly triggering excessive pressure alerts. I also like how effective it is at whitening my teeth and making them feel and look cleaner. I'm not saying the sonic brush is inferior. I just feel the Oral-B is more appropriate for my needs. On the other hand, the app was so unreliable that I eventually ditched it. Thankfully, it's not mandatory to use the app and I don't really feel like I'm missing out on anything by not using it.I would recommend this to a friend

More features than imaginable in a toothbrushPosted .
The Oral-B Genius X toothbrush is truly the state of the art in personal dental care. This is my second electric toothbrush and this brush definitely brings the features. It has six different selectable modes of operation, an LED light that provides various status indications (including a selectable color to differentiate your toothbrush from an identical one used by a spouse or roommate), and of course - smartphone app integration. The smartphone app integration is pretty cool - the brush must have positional sensors in it as the brush knows exactly which quadrant and which section (inside, top, or outside) of the teeth you are brushing. In real time, the app will show you which teeth you are brushing, and where you need to cover to ensure you have brushed all areas of your mouth. It also provides feedback via the app and via flashing/haptic feedback if you are pushing a little too hard as a warning to lighten up a bit. Once your brushing is complete, the app gives you a coverage score and pointers to do better on your next brushing session if any are available. Included with the brush is the brush itself, 3 brush heads, AC adaptor, a home charging stand, and a travel charging case. The included brush heads are a nice inclusion, as it lowers your cost on consumables for your first few brush head swaps. The AC adaptor and home stand are pretty standard - a pro for the home stand is it takes up a super low profile - it's not much larger around than the toothbrush itself. The travel case is actually pretty decent - it will transport the toothbrush body, and two toothbrush heads. I'm not sure if it's designed for multiple users to swap heads, or simply to put a replacement head in the second toothbrush head compartment. Either way, the travel case requires you to bring along your AC adaptor from the home stand. The travel case also has a USB charging port, which allows you to plug in a standard USB cable and charge a USB device while your toothbrush is charging in the case. The travel case also serves as a smartphone holder so you can use it to hold your smartphone in a convenient viewing angle, apparently to use with the Oral-B app when you're on the go. I travel for work frequently, and therefore bring this toothbrush with me wherever I go. I frequently take only a backpack that contains my laptop, clothes, shoes, and toiletries and this travel case fits, but ideally would be slightly smaller. If taking a carry-on or checking a bag - no worries, it takes up a minuscule amount of space. One glaring miss on the design here is that the travel case does not have a battery. The toothbrush itself will last for about 2 weeks on a charge. Ideally, the travel case would be able to be charged on its own, and then when the toothbrush is in the travel case it would get a charge from the battery within the travel case. With the capacity of the toothbrush itself on a full charge, plus reserve in the travel case -most would be able to leave the AC adaptor at home for all but the longest trips. One thing I do like about the Oral-B electric toothbrush ecosystem is the variety of replacement heads that are available, as well as the cost of the replacement heads - they are quite affordable and readily available. There's not too many downsides to this toothbrush, as it is on the high end of both the features and price scale for electric toothbrushes. I will admit that I don't use the app every time I brush, so I wish that it did have an audible alert that let me know when it's time to switch to a different quadrant (I.e. in a 2 minute brushing session, every 30 seconds beep to let me know when to move on. The LED ring will flash to indicate this, but it also flashes for too much pressure so that can be a bit confusing.) The other thing I did note is that when brushing with the app, if I brush for two minutes, then switch modes to "tongue clean" it seems to reset the timer on the session and the app will say that it does not record sessions less than 30 seconds, even though I've been brushing for almost 2 minutes 30 seconds. Lastly, the switching between modes seems to simply adjust the speed of the brush head. It may affect the overall movement of the brush head, but I typically leave it in "Daily Clean' and move to "Tongue Clean" when appropriate. Overall, if you're looking for the toothbrush with the most techno-features and included options - look no more because this is it.I would recommend this to a friend
