All new iPhones, from iPhone 7 and newer, are water resistant and can handle being dunked into water briefly, some models are more resistant than others but defender pro is NOT waterproof.

Tough Protector
Had an OtterBox Defender before, had to have the OtterBox Defender Pro for my new iPhone Xs!

buy something else
Dropped my iphone x with case on it and it shattered. So unhappy. Otter only replaces the otter box (which I obviously don't want or need now) and charges $7 for shipping. do not buy

Very strong case!!
Love this case, it's a tad bulky but I prefer the protection it provides. Easy to put on and take off,and has good grip which is always a problem for me when getting a case.. went with the dark blue as it was on sale at Best Buy for 30 dollars. If you are looking for a solid case that will protect your phone,give it a try.
