Q: The buttons are hard to press. Do they ever loosen up with time and use, or is there something I can do to soften them?

A: Very easy to fix: remove the cas. Without the phone, there is space for pressing them deeply and strech the rubber on that area a bit like 10-20 times, worked right away. I had the case for 2 weeks and had not improved at all until i did this. It is not necessary to use a blade.

Q: What is this made of? Is it a soft rubber that won't leave marks on the phone?

A: Little bit of both on the case the backing and corners are more of a harder plastic type and around the screen and buttons its a more soft rubber.

Q: I need this case but for the galaxy note 7?? I cant find it anywhere is it even sold anymore?

A: Yes. Perfectly. No Blocking of Wire.

Good protection, relatively cheap, scratches easy
I purchased this by price matching the case with another local store. I would not recommend paying the retail price for this case. The case is very sturdy, but the back clear side will scratch really easily (just a fact of having a clear case.) The SPEN is somewhat blocked when taking out due to the proximity of the speaker and pen opening. Overall, I would recommend it as i use a wireless magnetic car charger and this case is thick enough to protect the phone, but also thin enough to wireless charge and hold my phone on the car charger. It also charges on most wireless charger that this phone will fit on. Side NOTE, I would also have purchased the Pursuit series for this phone if Otterbox would have made it. As i had that for my S9+ and it gave better protection, and projected the lower speaker sound back at the user without having to cup your hands.

Terrible
The back of my note 9 shattered and my camera lens is cracked. I will be contacting Otterbox about this.

Great case!
I bought this case to replace an Otterbox Commuter case that had held up nicely until a recent drop damaged a corner (not broken but compromised to the point I was afraid it wouldn't hold up to another drop). I considered the Samsung flip case for the added screen protection but thought the cover would be in the way for everyday use and since it doesn't close securely wouldn't necessarily protect the screen in the event of a drop. I wanted a clear case to showcase the color of my phone and was able to purchase this at a reduced price. The fit is great, feels very secure and has held up to a couple of minor drops so far. The surface does show minor scratches. I don't see any issue with accessing the S-pen as mentioned in another review.
