In this sequel to the 2014 family film, Paddington Bear (voice of Ben Whishaw) tries to earn enough money to buy an antique book for his aunt's 100th birthday, but his quest brings him into conflict with an unscrupulous actor (Hugh Grant) who also wants the tome. Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, Michael Gambon, and Imelda Staunton co-star. Directed by Paul King, Paddington 2 is based on the beloved series of children's books by Michael Bond.~Jack Rodgers
I was expecting a letdown after the greatness of the first Paddington movie but this sequel was awesome. I won't bother summarizing the film since there are already plenty of synopses out there. Technically speaking, the picture and audio are great. Given my theater setup, I could only listen to the Dolby TrueHD soundtrack but it was impressive and I'm sure the Dolby Atmos track is even better. It The bonus features are decent. All in all, a great disc to own and if you're more of a streamer, this edition includes a digital copy as well.
I recommend this DVD for young and old alike. It was very entertaining. We've loved Pooh for years and now we have another bear to love in Paddington!
I would recommend this to a friend

A real gem
Paddington is better known in Great Britain than in the U.S., but this is a wonderful, charming and fun sequel. You don't need to see the first one to appreciate this one, but they're both excellent. Yes, this is a children's movie, but this 55-year old man got a lot of laughs from it. It's truly fun for all ages. Everything about it done extraordinarily well--script, set design, acting, cinematography, costuming...a wonderful overlooked film. You'll have a smile on your face when it's done.
Paddington 2 is an absolute delight and a wonderful family movie. It is a very underrated, overlooked gem that has not gotten a lot of recognition from audiences for whatever reason. I guess it is not as mainstream as other family films, but don't let that deter you. This is a great family movie and a well-made film. Paul King returns as director and he has made a great sequel to the first Paddington. Paddington 2 has a great cast, a nice message, a ton of heart, and it's just one of those films that lifts your spirits and is a good time to watch. I recommend picking this one up.
