This zs200D camera is compact yet full of great functional options. It’s one of the few of its class to have a 1”sensor so the photos are terrific. It also is capable to take beautiful 4k videos. Highly recommend it if you want portability & quality at an excellent price.

This was a very nice camera, with an excellent zoom and it took great pictures and videos. However, I ended up returning it for a variety of reasons. In the modern age it's really nice to have a shooting grip with wireless remote so you can hold the camera up and click the grip. Additionally, I realized quickly it helps to have a flip screen so you can take a picture of yourself (maybe with your friends/family) easily. This camera does neither and would only be good for a strict "point and shoot" traditional camera. Parts are harder to find as this is not a common camera and even some grips that claimed to work did not do so (I tried a few). The menu system was really confusing and counterintuitive, and it was extremely difficult to sync this camera with your phone via the Panasonic app. There were too many complicated menus and buttons you could accidentally press that turned on settings that were difficult to undo. I ended up going with a different brand that supported a grip and had a flip screen and was TRULY just point and shoot.
However, if I had all the money in the world, I might have kept this camera as well as my "selfie camera" as the Lumix ZS200DK really did have the superior zoom and was very nicely made. I was a camera buff I bet all those crazy settings and options would have been a boon. It was half the price of the other camera I ended up going with in the end, so if you don't care about grips and being able to take selfies you would be really happy with this camera.

Used it for my latest vacation. Coming from using a DSLR I wanted something more compact and with extra zoom that I cannot get with my phone. I try to remind myself this is not my DSLR with a 2.8 lens so it is not fair to compare. For outdoor its excellent and indoors with descent lighting is good. However the motion stability during video i'snt as great as with my iphone. I highly recommend getting a cover to protect the camera from turning ON by mistake and have the lens extend in a tight space.

As far as I can tell this is Identical (except firmware update) to the Panasonic - Lumix DC-ZS200. I had the DC-ZS200 and it broke (Dead Pixel) I had also purchased the BestBuy 4-year warranty, BestBuy was unable to repair or replace it and gave me over what I paid including the 4-year Warranty. I was really bummed because this is by far the BEST Point&Shoot today. for a while I could not find it at BestBuy and magically this one appeared with a slight name change and a new SKU... I bought it immediately... this should say a lot since I had all my money back from Bestbuy after using it for almost 2 years...
Here are the best key features & why this is the best pocket camera on the market as of today.
1 Inch CMOS sensor!
360mm Optical (NOT DIGITAL) Leica Lens!!!
there is more but these 2 key features make it best in class.
FYI I also have a Nikon z5 Full Frame (35mm) Sensor and but this is the camera I take EVERYWHERE.

Good camera, but too expensive and complex.

Appears to be a very competent camera with good optics.
> overly complex setup and some non-intuitive options
> touch screen and auto-focus were difficult to manage;
lots of unintended shots from touching screen
> camera is heavy, would be severely damaged if dropped,
and no case was provided--expected at this price-point
> battery life seemed extremely short--only one provided
Overall, very expensive, with a rudimentary manual, no
case, only one battery and no external charger.
For these reasons, I would have returned the camera, but
Best Buy return policy at 15 days is absurdly short. To get
a reasonable return time, they demand a subscription fee.
Best Buy does not tend to carry this camera in local stock.
Overall: usually a good store to shop, very bad return policy

I bought this lightweight camera to use on a Florida vacation, so that I could leave my heavy SLR at home. I wanted a device with a good zoom that would take good pictures. The Lumix is easy to learn and use, and picture quality doesn't disappoint.

Hello! We truly appreciate you took the time to share your thoughts with us! -M
A:Hi, Chris! This is the same camera. However, the difference between these models is the color. DC-ZS200K is black and DC-ZS200S is silver. Hope this helps! -C
A:Per Amazon for same model, video is 4K, 30 fps. The Panasonic webpage for this model also agrees with Amazon. Don't understand why Panasonic didn't understand your question. Not very helpful.
