A: Yes, but you'll have to look for the "incandescent wattage equivalent" to compare these to incandescent bulbs. For example, this 10W bulb is the brightness equivalent of a 60W incandescent bulb. However, if you're comparing comparable LED bulbs, a 12W bulb would be brighter than a 10W. For this one, think of it as a "normal" brightness. Philips does make brighter bulbs if that's what you need.
A: Yes, these are the new type of Hue that have Bluetooth as well. You can only do up to ten lamps with Bluetooth and you have to be closer than when you’re using a hub. The Bluetooth connection only works on one device and you have to download a Philips Hue Bluetooth version of the app.
Q: Can these bulbs be used for outdoor lighting?
A: No, it is not recommended to be used for outdoor lighting.
A: The bulb connects with the hue hub and the hub can be controlled by a multitude of other devices (Siri/HomePod, Alexa, Google Home, Android)
Q: Do I have to have a bridge to use with Alexa
A: No, I didn't have a bridge. Just ask Alexa to discover new devices, or go to the Alexa app on your phone and add new device. It takes about 45 seconds and then baboom!
A: In terms of power draw, and heat generated (this is the Watt rating), the Hue A19 bulbs are 9.5W, well below the 40W. The largest concern will be that they fit the fan's dome or housings well. The A19 is shaped like many "traditional" bulbs most people use in their homes, and thus are generally compatible with any light bulb socket which would fit a "standard" bulb. I have these in many places, including 2 ceiling fans. They work just fine.
