  Adidas is trying to make a name for themselves in the world of athletic, wireless earbuds. From my experience, there are some features to like, but there’s still work that needs to be done. The Good ------------- Wonderful comfort and fit: These wireless earbuds feel great in the ears and even for lengthy periods of time. I was able enjoy them while doing multiple activities from casually walking to playing basketball. I rarely had to perform any position readjustments. I’ve become more physically active within recent moments so using earbuds with minimal risk of falling out is ultra-important. As a bonus, this product contains multiple ear tips and wing pieces that allows the user to customize their fit. Fortunately, I was able to get by with the default tips that were used. Nice sound and strong bass: The FWD02 may be small, but definitely packs a punch when listening to bass-heavy music. Quite frankly, it’s the best bass I’ve ever heard from wireless earbuds. The sound is clear and can be enjoyed by all. Decent mic: I’ve called my wife from the earbuds, and was informed that the call quality was a pleasant experience. Although this product is intended for athletic purposes, it’s nice to know that I can take a call without sounding muffled. Other things: The water resistance worked as expected and the touch controls were responsive. The Bad ------------- Extremely buggy: Connecting these headphones is not a seamless experience. When I put them in, the earbuds play a sound to register that they are connected. Unfortunately, the sound is often replayed to indicate that they have been disconnected and reconnected. Also, there are times when it won’t connect the app properly. Inconsistent connection: There have been plenty of times where my earbuds suddenly stop playing music. From the app and my phone’s Bluetooth settings, they are still showing as connected despite the abrupt stop. This happened everyday and is such an inconvenience. The problem persisted even after updating the firmware. Poor Battery Charging: Battery life is okay, but the charging experience has been a nightmare. Since I’ve owned these earphones, there’s never been an instance where both buds have achieved 100% battery life. As soon as I take them out of the case, they’re normally about 93-94% charged. There have been two occurrences where I achieved 100% battery life, but that was only for one earbud. I thought something was obstructing the charging contacts but the case was clean. Also, one bud’s battery percentage is usually significantly higher than the other. For instance, my left bud may be at 93% and the other may be at 82%. What makes this horrible is that both buds have been sitting within the case that’s been connected to a charger. No volume controls: Volume control is one of the most basic functions for an earbud. I’m surprised that this was not included. The more I can control with my earbuds without my phone the better. No wireless charging: The price tag of this product should have caused for wireless charging to be included. Instead, customers are only provided an extremely short USB C cable. I own a USB hub so finding a convenient spot for charging these earphones isn’t as big of an issue. However, you must purchase a longer USB Type C cable if you don’t already own one. I would love for the ability to just sit the case down a charging pad without being tethered to a power adapter in the wall. Flimsy Mesh: I thought the mesh idea for the lid would be really awesome, but the fabric is very thin. It could easily snag onto something sharp in a gym bag such as keys if you’re not careful. The removable top is nice, but it’s almost like you need a cover for your lid. These headphones are an admirable attempt to compete against other wireless earbuds, but fall short for me. They have the comfort, fit, and bass desired, but are too problematic. Although future firmware updates could possibly address the big issues, I cannot recommend this product at its current state. The charging case has been unreliable, and I experience far too many unexpected pauses to be able to thoroughly enjoy this product. When it works, it’s great. When it doesn’t, it’s a headache.

  Good bass, Secure Fit but some quirks

  Strong bass, Secure Fit but some quirks I have been using the Adidas FWD-02 Headphones for about a week now and I am really undecided. Fit, comfort, and design wise these are good earbuds.The default sports and earbud rubber attachments fit me perfectly, but Adidas does include 4x earbuds/tips & 5x different sized sports loop/earwings - so you should get the perfect fit. Also included in the box is a short USB A to USB C cable (the Adidas FWD02 charge by USB C). The fit is GREAT and I couldn't shake these loose, even in a game of pick-up volleyball as a test. The case design is nice, it's relatively long and flat and a mixture of hard (possibly recycled plastics) with an Adidas sneaker-like material covering the earbuds. The case looks sporting but has an odd design choice that the hinge is magnetic so (see photo) when I first used them I thought I had broken the case. As the cover detaches. I guess Adidas made the decision because these are "sport" and this makes the case a little more hard robust and makes the case hinge less prone to breakage. But then the sneaker-like material means the earbuds and case internals are not protected from moisture. The earbuds are rated IPX5 but thew case is IPX4, so treat the case with a little more care than the earbuds. But headphones are all about audio, I'm using an iPhone with Apple Music, so my tests are based on that. Pairing was easy, you hold the button on the case until the lights turn blue to pair. This is EASY and much more straight forward than other headphones. Adidas do make a free app (iOS and Android) to customize the earbuds. There's no prompt to install it like some other headphones after pairing (thank goodness) but do make sure you find and download it - as there were firmware updates for me. The app also lets you customize the touch controls on the side and the equalizer settings. The buttons let you change you turn on/off noise control, launch voice assistant, deep integrate with Spotify, or do nothing. If you integrate with Spotify you get access to custom Adidas playlists, but as an Apple Music users, I can't use the buttons to launch Apple Music. Oh well. BTW, Adidas, FYI if you read this there's "Lorem Ipsum" placeholder text in the Spotify section of your app. Audio quality. Music: The Adidas FWD02 have great bass, really solid. They are not ANC but the noise isolation (earwings help with this) is excellent, you would almost think they are noise cancelling. The different equalizer settings changes were minimal not dramatic. I did run into some odd issues though, which is occasionally on first pairing the music would come across flat and I would need to reset the equalizer setting to get good sound. Feels like a software bug so could be fixed with a firmware update. The other more frustrating thing is that sometimes the earbuds would play in the case, this is in-the-case, case-closed, and technically they should be in standby mode. I worry about these randomly playing in my pocket when not in use and wearing down the battery. Voice: I made a few calls. There was no complaints from the call recipient, they could hear me clearly. The voice call quality though was a little washed out compared to music. The treble was higher and the overall sound profile felt much more subdued vs music. The only way I can describe it is it felt like a call that I had to 'listen' to actually hear the other person vs other earbuds where it's clear as if they were with you in the room. Adidas could fix this with a firmware update. Also, weird bug was when I answered a call on my phone with the earbuds in, the audio was not on my earbuds but on the phone so had to do that panicked "just a second, my earbuds didn't pair, hang on, hang on" talk. Overall: As well fitting sports headphones, the Adidas FWD02 are good with excellent fit. Audio quality is good. But I can't shake my reservations about audio call quality, the fact music in the earbuds sometimes sounds flat on first pairing, that they have played music in the case, calls didn't transfer to the earbuds when I answered a call, and that they lack ANC makes me think you could get better value elsewhere. I would say though, if you want a pair of gym-only or running-0only headphones for music-only that stay anchored in your ears, the Adidas would be a reasonable pick. But I would pick up another pair of headphones for everyday non-gym use. FYI.   Great Sport Earbuds

  I have been using these Adidas Sport wireless headphones for over a week and since I workout and run almost everyday, they have been perfect for me. Out of the box, they are very easy to pair to your device. Just press the Bluetooth button on the case and pair it to your device and you are set. Once yo are paired, I would highly recommend you download the Adidas headphones app to activate more features and configure the touch controls. Speaking of the touch controls, they are very intuitive and easy to use on the headphones. On the app you can adjust and customize the equalizer, custom actions, noise control, interaction sounds and you will receive any firmware updates. The app will also tell you how much charge you have in each ear piece. Getting them fully charged only took about 1 1/2 hours. Once you figure out which ear-tips will work best with your ears, you will barely notice that they are in. They give you plenty of ear-tips so you can find the best fit. Once you find the correct fight, they will not move from your ears. As I stated earlier, I run almost every day and every time I took them on my runs, I never had any issues with them falling out. Another feature that I love about these Adidas earbuds is that they are sweat-proof. I have had plenty of previous earbuds stop working because of too much exposure to sweat. The sound on these headphones is pretty sweet as well. The app allows you to customize your sound, which depending on the music you are listening to, can change. Overall, I am very happy with these Adidas Sport wireless headphones.
