Wow, they weren't kidding
|Posted .These Hue lights have seriously changed my mental health/life for the better. They help me with more than I ever dreamed. I was interested in them when they just came out (1st Gen.) after a friend of mine got them! Boy, they have grown up, I picked up the 3rd Gen at Best Buy, and they know when I leave my room have over 200 3rd party iOS apps and Android apps that allow for syncing to video, music, helping you wake up the things this 3rd generation kit can do is phenomenal.

These are way better!
Posted .Gen 1 was awful. Gen 2 didn't produce the proper greens and blues which drove me to buy 26 LIFX bulbs. The LIFX are for sale and I'm proud to say this Gen 3 bulb with richer colors are great. Accurate Green color and can do other blues color such as Cyan or Aqua which the previous Gen's did not. Make sure if you buy these it has the little richer colors badge in the upper right hand corner! The biggest reason for the switch back to Hue is because of HomeKit support along with Works with Nest! They are still 800 Lumens though.

They Got It Right
|Posted .I loved the concept of this sort of lighting system but I also love the color blue to set some moods. The 3rd generation allows a broader spectrum of color, and the installation is a breeze. Well worth the price to start and build your system.

Light your way with Siri or Alexa
|Posted .Everything you need is in the box. I don't know how I ever got by without these lights, Updates from HUE Labs lets you set new scenes and moods. You can set your lights to play different colors or just wake up when you do. Turn off when you leave or arrive home. The colors are rich and the whites are warm and also cool and bright. Bright as a 75watt lamp. Your going to wish you ordered more after you get this home. Works with Apple Home App and Siri. Come with a hub, set up is easy. You will need need is WiFi to set it up.

Great 95% of the time!
|Posted .I love my Phillips hue bulbs. Once in a rare while they don’t respond as they should but typically they I love my Phillips hue bulbs. Once in a rare while they don’t respond as they should but 95% of the time they work great. I use them in tandem with the hue app, smartthings, alexa and the google home assistant. Alexa is pretty great but i do find that google offers more of a range when requesting different colors. Also sometimes when tuning them to particularly rich colors they are not as bright as one might hope… Otherwise they’re pretty amazing and great for setting the mood!

Awesome lights!
|Posted .We placed these in our pendant lights in our kitchen and they have been awesome! We got them when we got the Amazon Echo, so we can tell Alexa to turn them on and off. It's fun to be able to set them to different colors and scenes (Christmas colors are what I show in the picture) and have them turn on and off hands free!

Bright and vibrant colors
|Posted .It provides bright and vibrant colors. Works best when you hardwire the light switch to the on position and place a hue dimmer switch over it. This will allow it to remember the color you last used while giving you quick and easy everyday access. I also heard Alexa & Siri work well to control the lights.

These lights are awesome
|Posted .I really like that you can change the mood of the room just by adjusting the color and intensity of these lights, plus they make the place alot better looking

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between this one and the 2nd Generation model
Asked by Drew.
- A:Answer The 3rd generate has better blues/cyans/greens than the 2nd gen - but the important part is the wireless security implemented. The 3rd gen hub uses secure Wi-Fi connections. This is a requirement for any device to be compatible with the Apple Home app. This means that the 3rd gen can be controlled using Siri.

Q: QuestionCan one bridge or kit control one room or a whole house? Do you have to have an individual kit for each room?
Asked by mad4sports.
- A:Answer A single bridge can support up to 50 lights. So, you would only need one bridge in most cases. I guess its possible the bridge could be in a location that couldn't reach some of your lights but i have not seen anyone complain of such issues.

Q: QuestionHow long do the Gen3 bulbs last?
Asked by VNunez.
- A:Answer The spec says 25000 hours. It's not clear if this is the MTBF or if is the L70 curve. If you run them for 8 hours every night, that should work out to about 8.5 years of life. My guess is that some will probably fail before 25000 hours and some will fail after that. Part of that will probably depend on how cool the bulb stays when it is operating. In an enclosed light fixture, they will get hot.

Q: QuestionDoes this work with google home? How do you set it up?

- A:Answer Yes, these bulbs work with Google Home. You just download he Google home app and hue app and follow the instructions to integrate the two.

Q: QuestionCan you put one of these bulbs in the enclosed light fixture over the front door (on the outside) and use your phone to turn it on when you drive up?
Asked by 127.
- A:Answer Yes you're able to put them in an outside light as long as it's close enough to pick up the wifi. However you'll only be able to turn them on if you are connected to the wifi on your phone and the signal is strong enough. The only reason you wouldn't be able to do that is if your connection isn't strong enough.

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between a19 and e27 kits? Bulb size?
Asked by Tony.
- A:Answer A19 is the bulb shape. E27 (or E26 here in the USA) is the size of the socket screw base, also called a medium base. A19 is the sandard indoor light bulb shape. They also have a BR30 shape bulb that fits into the standard ceiling can fixtures and it has the E26 medium base as well.

Q: Questioncan you change the color with google home?
Asked by cmiller.
- A:Answer Yes. I use Google Home to change the color. You can change them all at once or choose an individual light to change. I recommend not using numbers (1, 2, 3) when you label each light because Google Home can confuse them for brightness settings.
