HD gaming/music
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is honestly my first quality PC gaming headset. I've been gaming since 2005. After looking through other headsets, i found most to be overpriced or under mid level quality. After software installation and extensive testing (referenced against using full home theater system), I found this set performing very well for streaming music, voice chat, and gaming effects (multi-positional) often all at the same time. Be aware your incoming stream bitrate needs to be high enough to use Dolby enhanced mode. While not being the level of Sein*****, it's a GREAT quality alternative, producing balanced sound with great low end for MP use. Enjoy

Some issues with certain games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these to replace a Gamecom 780 headset, also from Plantronics. Apparently the 780 is no longer available, so I made do with these instead. At first I absolutely LOVED them. They fit well, sealed out sound with ease, and also my TrackIR Track Clip Pro fit beautifully on the side. And then I started playing Prepar3d. For some reason in this, and a few other games, the sound freaked out like crazy whenever surround was turned on. This never occurred with any other headset. Turn off surround and my sound was okay, but sometimes I'd get "breaks" as if the cord was shorting out or something. My sweetie had her 780 headset still, so on a whim I asked if she could trade me for a day and see if she experienced the same issues. She does not play the games I do, but more is into MMO games, Fallout 4, FFXIV, and such. She also watches a lot of streaming media while gaming on her other monitors, so I figured it would be a good test. For her, the headset is working absolutely beautiful. And she likes them, so for her this is a 5-star deal. I knocked a star off the review because the headset should have worked for me also. However, in the end, we both now have working headsets that fit our needs. I am going to select "yes" for recommending this headset, because I think there was some hardware issue going with my rig on this. I can;t stay neutral as it is required yes or no, and I can;t say "No" without having more knowledge of why this headset freaks out on surround sound on games for me. I can say this ... on the programs and such that the headset DID work for, it sounded beautiful. The headset is indeed comfortable. I admit to being confused as to why they needed a jack in the line of the headset, but either way the quality was good. It was only in Prepar3d and some other simulation titles I have that I encountered the issue. It was odd. I also run Track IR, and have a theory that maybe the camera points were also having a hard time with this headset's drivers? It's possible. In conclusion, I'd still recommend, but also throw out there that if you have major issues in games with Track IR, then you aren't alone.

Nice Set, shorter side cord
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very ,Very comfy, crisp clear sound. The USB set does work on PS4 even though it is not advertised to. There are no controls for volume etc on the set so you have to do it on the system itself which isn't the end of the world. The cord however is pretty short so you may need a usb extender.

Plantronics, to the moon and beyond.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Modular design seems like a failed experiment but the quality from Plantronics is what has become expected from me after using their products for almost 20 years now. The build quality is OK but there is no volume on the headphone wire, it would benefit from this but its not a deal killer. The comfort is good and the sound quality is awesome as expected.

Plantronics excellent quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My previous headphones were the plantronics gamecom 780s. Those old headphones broke after I tripped over them many times over the last 3 years. I loved the gamecom 780s and looked for something that I expected to be the same or better quality. With a trip to the plantronics site I found out that the Plantronics Rig 515HD headphones were the latest 7.1 midrange set of gaming headphones. The headphones were so new that I waited a few weeks before I purchased them until some reviews began to appear online. The large majority of the posted reviews were positive so I decided to purchase them. Overall these head phones are very similar quality to my previous excellent headphone, but the bigger drivers in the rig 515HD headphones have a noticeably better bass rumble than the 780s so bass vibrations sound amazing with these head phones. The software for these head phones include equalizer panel so you can adjust the headphones to your liking. The build of these headphones appears to be of hard plastics for the frame and nice soft material ( and hopefully durable) for the ear cups. These headphones aren't perfect though. Plantronics did not make these head phones with audio controls on the headphones. There is only a dolby surround on off button on a little control module about halfway down the usb cord. For that reason I deducted one star. If you can live with using keyboard short cuts to adjust the volume these headphones are for you. I have also tested the mic in a few test recordings and I heard my voice loud and clear as well. Some people might not like that these head phones are 100% usb connection out of the box. You can order a headphone jack from plantronics if you want that type of connection.

Almost Great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a huge fan of plantronics anything really but especially their headsets. I only encountered one problem but everyone might not have the same problem as me...using VOIP programs such as TS and MUMBLE some people can hear themselves through my mic and it is very uncomfortable to listen to for them and for me. After trying to troubleshoot for a couple hours I returned them. Again I still give it 4 starts because that could have been just me. MIC. Audio, Build Quality are all good and the headset was comfortable.

Comfort and great sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son, who has Asperger's Syndrome and sensory issues, is very particular about how his headphones fit and he is VERY happy with the fit and the sound of this product. The short cord could be longer. We will have to purchase a longer adapter cord for it. If it was suppose to be enclosed, it was not.

Simply amazing!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simply amazing! Plugged it in and tried it out before installing the drivers just to play around with it. Installed the drivers and was blown away by the difference that it made. There is a movie and music mode that helps with what you use it for. I always use movie mode for games, and for music the music mode coupled with Spotify premiums HQ sound made this my go to headset when I'm on the computer.

Q: QuestionWill this headset work with xbox one, or is it PC specific? If it does work with xbox, do i need any additional accessories?
Asked by DickJohnson.
- A:Answer Out of the box it's PC only, the headset has a 3.5mm cable that is about a foot long and the extension is 3.5mm female to USB. I imagine that you can get a 3.5mm extension to use with a console but I haven't tried that to verify it will function properly and the Dolby adapter is built into the USB extension not the headset. So if it does work it likely won't be dolby7.1.

Q: QuestionIs there any extra software I have to download to use this headset to its fullest?
Asked by Onyx.
- A:Answer There is an audio driver you get from the Plantronics support site. It definitely makes a difference in audio quality when you change the settings through the minimal software it runs in the background.
