Q: is it mandatory to use iFit for the treadmill to function or can it be used without iFit?
A: The treadmill can work without iFit. There is a manual mode available. HOWEVER, stay away from this machine if you will not use iFit. It DOES NOT have programmed workouts in manual mode, the speakers don't work in manual mode, you barely get any features with the manual mode. The specs mention an Aux Port to use the speakers with your own devices, but my treadmill does not have it. According to Proform/iFit support, the new version of this treadmill no longer has that port. Last, you cannot use the speakers via Bluetooth. Short answer is, if you are not using iFit, you might as well find a used treadmill for half the price and more features than this. I wish I would have known that before wasting my money.
Q: anyone having a problem with loud motor noise while inclining or just mine??
A: Hey I just purchased mine and it makes this loud noise when it inclines.
Q: Is there a rack that can support magazines or tablets (like the large iPad pro) for reading?
A: Yes, if you look closely at the picture you will see a shelf/ledge that will hold a book or tablet.
Q: Does this work once the ifit trial is over or do you have to have a subscription for it to function?
A: This model can work without an iFit subscription/membership

A: 7.43" from the floor to the top of the walking belt at 0% incline.

A: No it does not have a heart rate monitor
Q: Does this treadmill auto adjust to the incline on the ifit workouts?
A: Absolutely! That's one of our greatest features that it auto inclines and declines according to the workouts and that you can override if necessary.
