QuestionI have the 2 year Geek Squad plan on my TV. My son hit it with a toy and now the pixels are messed up. They will do something to fix this correct? I couldn't purchase a separate accidental plan with it? The TV hasn't had time to collect dust yet.

- Answer You are actually purchasing a 5 year warranty that overlaps with the manufacturer warranty. Your 5 year warranty will most likely end 5 years from the purchase date of your tv. The big trick and heist is the way warranty companies use the word "extended". You and I would assume that after the manufacturer warranty runs out, you will have an extension of 5 years. The fine print will tell you that this isn't true. The word "extended" can also mean that you are extended more coverage for a period of 5 years, with an overlap of coverage during the original manufacturer's warranty.

- Answer Hi Jim - if you purchase the Geek Squad Protection plan for your new TV and it has an issue that is not repairable, but covered under the plan (ex, 3 or more defective pixels) and your TV gets replaced by BBY/Geek Squad under the terms of your protection plan, the plan would be considered fulfilled. If you wanted coverage on your replacement TV, this would require the purchase of a new plan.

- Answer You don't! You cancel your order, stop payment and return IMMEDIATELY!!! We Have Closed Our Best Buy Account The warranty for their televisions is a joke. We have a one-year-old 55” box in our home. One year ago, we purchased a TV from Best Buy w/warranty. Less than a year into new TV, the sound broke. They sent a technician to our home (during COVID) to troubleshoot, order parts and then come back a week later to replace parts. Less than 4 months later, same problem. They have sent new technicians out four additional times before deciding that this was not working. They took our TV to troubleshoot in office. We have been without a television now for 3 weeks. Would you like an Exchange? YES! To bad the exchange policy is an absolute joke. Television was purchased for a sale price of over $500. They offered under $250 for the exchange value. Why? Because I used THEIR rewards dollars to purchase and they do not honor their own rewards dollars. So besides spending enough to earn those dollars and use them towards purchases – they don’t honor them when exchanging their own faulty equipment. Lesson learned – no more Best Buy purchases for me or my family friends. Shame on their Customer Service. I hope that you are able to learn from our mistakes before you loose out on hundreds of hard-earned dollars.

- Answer This plan only allows you to replace the TV in the event something happens to your tv. You will be able to upgrade and pay the difference if something happens to your tv.My sharp 58in went out and I used the replacement plan to upgrade to a 60 in lg 4k in which I paid the difference in price. Great peace of mind.

- Answer Geek Squad tech came and checked my 50" Samsung with its 5-year extended warranty. He said it couldn't be fixed and that I was out of warranty. I was in shock. I found the 5-year warranty, which is still in effect, my tv is now much worse with 5 big glowing white spots the size of a tennis ball. I talked to chat support, they said they would try to help but I need to call Geek squad and explain the problem. The tech that came LIED, he checked the tv, went outside and talked to his "supervisor" to return and tell me it wasn't covered and to buy a new TV, "sorry." That was not correct! I'm going to file a complaint with consumer affairs! They shouldn't sell extended warranties then not honor the warranty.
