• this is not a windows computer so it will not have Microsoft word. you can use google docs. that is free and is compatible with word in most cases

• This is a Chromebook that runs the Chrome operating system. Recently Microsoft Office was made available via app for most Chromebooks, the C740 included. This Chromebook supports Google Playstore and Android apps so it should work with this model.
