I have used Office in the past and am fine using Google apps instead. Personally I do not need anything more. I think some users are just more comfortable using a product they are familiar with. There are probably features on Office not in Google apps but I haven't missed any. So maybe preference?! If you have a Google account try the apps out to be sure you can do what you need. You can always get Office later if the apps aren't enough. :-)

Compatibility is great throughout however maybe you might be more familiar with the Microsoft office family products and wish to stay with them.... It's simply a choice.... I have been a longtime office user and now use Google docs and many others in the Google family instead... Save the money and just learn the Google products.... This is my opinion and just take it at face value...
