Q: QuestionCan you use a 3rd adapter (2nd extension) in another part of your house?All powerline Ethernet adapter systems require 2 adapters; 1 connected to your router and another adapter where you want the wired extension. My question is: can you use multiple extension points by using a 3rd adapter (or more) in another location of the same house? If so, I assume all extension point adapters would be subject to the limitations of the adapter connected to the router. Would there be any other drawbacks? Would the security feature still work properly? If I live in a single family home do I even need the security feature?

• A:Answer That is not one question :-[ You should be able to add a 2nd receiver of the same brand (and sometimes other brands). You should be able to use the security feature across multiple devices (sender - receiver 1) then (sender to receiver 2). You should not need the security feature at home. You never get more speed out of the system than it is capable of at the sending point. If you have 300 Mbps and 5 devices are actively using it ... they will be sharing that speed ... like cars on a road.
