A:Answer Virtually any smartphone can make it work.
You'll need to download the chrome browser, Netflix app, or YouTube app, if you don't already have them on your phone.
The Chromecast has no switch, so just plug it into an HDMI port on your TV and then you'll need to give it power via the us cable provided. Some TV's now have a USB port to plug into, but older ones don't so you'll need a regular old USB to AC adapter, the same thing you use to charge your phone from the wall. Once those are plugged in, it will start running.
You'll need to change source/input on the TV to one of the HDMI input until you find which one has the Chromecast connected to it.
From this point it should walk you through the steps of setting it up. As long as you have WiFi and can give it permission to your network you'll be good to go.
I haven't set mine up for about 4 years and that was back when there was a "Chromecast app", the directions should state how to initially setup the Chromecast to give it access to your network. These steps will take place on your phone.
Once the Chromecast is setup, to cast content you'll play a video/movie whatever like normal on your phone, but now there will be the small rectangle with WiFi looking likes on a corner, this is the "cast" icon. You'll tap that and then the content should be transferred to the tv.
Be sure your phone is connected to the wifi, having it turned off severs the connection and therefore control of the Chromecast.
