“my mother board :ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING has 2 x M.2 Socket 3 ‧ 1 x Type 2242-2280, supports SATA & PCIe 3.0 x4 modes ‧ 1 x Type 2242-22110, supports PCIe 3.0 x4 mode will this work on my board and would it go into 2280 slot with out sata connection.”

Yes it should work in either one of the nvme slots. And it should not use up any of your SATA ports
