- Answer My understanding is that purchase of the "Student/Teacher" version of Adobe Acrobat 2017 is not a yearly subscription. I qualified for the lower price as I have had an edu. email address for over 40 years.

QuestionInterested in purchasing the Adobe Acrobat Pro for Student and Teacher Software. I am a retired teacher ; what do you need to show proof that you were an Educator to be able to utilize this product? The description says you need to show proof.

- Answer If you still have your old edu email address that will suffice and they will verify it just by that otherwise, they ask you where you are attending or if you have children attending a school then you need to list the school. On the list of acceptable documents they list report cards or enrollment papers or employment papers from the school. I purchased mine for my son and just noted that he was enrolled and they asked what year he was graduating and I had to list the school. That was all they required from me, I never had to provide more proof then that.

QuestionIS this is the CD version - just because the others say download now and this doesn't? With CD version you could un-install and re-install on another laptop? Can you install on more than one at the same time?

- Answer I really do not know how long the license will be valid for Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017. It will probably be valid until Adobe decides not to support this version of Acrobat Pro. I purchased this version of Adobe Acrobat Pro because I received a notice from Adobe that they would no longer be supporting Adobe Acrobat Pro XI after mid-October 2017. From what I found on the box that Adobe Acrobat Pro XI can in, it appears as though that version of Adobe Acrobat Pro was first published in 2012. So hopefully, Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017 will be supported by Adobe for at least five years before Adobe stops supporting the 2017 version. .

- Answer Your ability to use the product isn't based on the features, which is what the description of the software is indicating. I imagine you have the ability to use all versions of Adobe software (being a firefighter and all). I would suggest getting a free trial of each version. What I highly recommend is getting a free trial of any version of FOXIT. That's the alternative to Adobe, and the best pdf software suites I've ever used. And I don't work for them or get a point or something for saying so :) You won't find it in a Microsoft Suite, not yet, but I hope it would be soon. It's far superior to Adobe.

QuestionDoes this version allow you to reduce file size?

- Answer It will enhance scanned images to give a more compact file (assuming you do not have a high end scanner that does this automatically). Other files may be slightly smaller after resaving, but the difference is usually small. Scans however can be greatly reduced in size. I use if when I have scanned documents that can't be emailed because my server won't accept the size of the image.

- Answer you can "Save As" reduced file size, yes. However, the gain will not be large. You're probably better off zipping it if you're worried about file size. or use OneDrive or DropBox. I think you'll be disappointing by the amount of file compression.

- Answer Yes, this appears to be a robust version of Acrobat. I have been able to do the things you mention. No, it's the least expensive I've found. At almost 50% off the original price, that's a pretty good deal.

- Answer To qualify as a student or teacher, you have to register an e-mail address that is associated with an educational institution. If you don't have one of those, no, you are not able to qualify as a student or teacher.
