“You answer several times that it won't switch automatically between heat and cool (deal killer) but then someone contradicts you and says it does. Which is it? I want to set it at a fixed temp and let it switch back and forth between AC and heat .”

Here's the auto option. I have it set to 70 for heat and 78 for cool. It's supposed to switch automatically to keep the temp between those two.
