• A:Answer Sadly no, and that is probably the biggest limitation of Roav Bolt - it can only pair with one phone and one car at a time, and, even if it is connected to the car via an Aux cable, the other Bluetooth connection is still not freed up for pairing with a second device. It is the most common complaint I have seen about the Bolt, since it makes it all but unusable for a household in which multiple drivers use a single car.

Q: QuestionI have a 2018 Tahoe that came with On Star which I did not choose to continue. When I left the On Star go I also lost the ability to use hands free phone in the car. Will allow me to have the same usage of hands free phone like I did with on star.

• A:Answer That doesn't sound right - Wouldn't letting On Star lapse just nuke the car's built in cellular modem? You'd think you'd still be able to pair your phone with the car's built-in Bluetooth and make a hands-free call without that service. (If not, wow: That's scummy behavior on their part. A handsfree call over Bluetooth and your own phone wouldn't require any actual lift from GM's On Star service.) You might try googling other ways to pair your phone with your existing hardware. But yes, the purpose of this device is to give you an alternative way to pair Bluetooth and have an always-on "OK Google" ready mic that can be used for calls. Other reviewers report that calls placed from the phone's screen may not work as intended, but calls started through the Roav & Google Assistant voice commands should work fine.

• A:Answer Allow the Roav to unlock your device when connected. This is in your phone under Trusted Devices. Now, your phone will be unlocked when connected to the dongle. Concerned with security? No sweat. Unlocking is based on a Bluetooth connection to the dongle, which only happens when powered, which only happens when the car has power, which is based on you being in it with the keys. All of those conditions must be met. That should be sufficient to dispel any security concerts, unless you drive for a ride share service or with dishonest people in your vehicle.

• A:Answer If your car was made before 2014, it's possible. Can you transmit music audio via Bluetooth using your phone? If not, that's a good indication that you will benefit from this product. Note: telephone call audio is not the same as music. My car does calls, but not music or navigation audio. That's why I got one. It's also a separate mic for Google Assistant, which is a bonus. You could otherwise use any Bluetooth receiver that uses a 3.5mm headphone jack to connect to the aux port.
