QuestionI was playing a game and all the sudden the Surge protector starting beeping and the power button was flashing red/green. The User guide only mentions over heating or overloaded While on Battery mode. Mine's plugged in?

- Answer If the UPS continues to flash lights and beep, the UPS probable has an internal fault. I've had one UPS get zapped by a power surge. You will need to contact APC regarding this condition. If the UPS is running normally now and you can connect the UPS to a computer with the PowerChute application installed, you can check to see what the load on the UPS is. Another way is to unplug the UPS from the wall and see if it operates normally when it switches to battery. If it starts flashing lights and beeping you are probably overloading the UPS.

QuestionIf I turn off while fully charged can I turn it back on later and it will have full charge still? Severe weather causing constant on/off power but has been charging for several hours and wondering if I can save for use when I need computer.

- Answer Yes, the batteries will remain charged. How long you can run you computer depends on the size of the UPS and power demand of the PC. You should try it from a cold start to see how long your PC will run after it starts up. If you need internet access, that's another load you need to consider as you need to keep any modems and routers running as well. I use an APC NS-1500M2 backup on my PC and internet equipment. It will run for about 80 minutes drawing 72 watts.

- Answer This is designed to be used for a temporary power supply if electricity goes off otherwise it is a surge protector that stays plugged in to the wall. It weights around 6 pounds.

- Answer I would not use this device for any sort of item with a heating element. Anything with a heating element is going to be pulling a significant amount of power through your device. Anything with a heating element should be plugged directly into the wall.

- Answer It depends on how much power that item is drawing from the UPS. This is from the website: Half Load Maximum Run Time = 10 minutes Full Load Maximum Run Time = 2.5 minutes
