• Yes you can! Good safety feature is that it will alert people rinding the bus than an "AirTag" is following them.

• Yes, you can as long as there is another iPhone close by for the airtag to communicate with. That can be someone else's iPhone. So, you may not always get live data. I have one in my 12 year old's school bag :-)

• Yes you could. Apple makes nice key fobs that you can insert the Air Tag inside of and could be attached to a backpack or belt loop securely.
