A:AnswerUnable to use Wireless iPhone7 with any other carrier other than TotalWireless -- unless first use TotalWireless service for ONE Year. I tried to switch to Cricket (AN AT&T Company) after having 'trouble' with TOTALWIRELESS. Transferred my provider from TotalWireless and bought a Cricket sim card -- Result = TOTALWIRELESS PHONE WILL NOT WORK! I suggest you stay away from TOTALWIRELESS and consider Cricket (which to repeat: is an AT&T company and uses their transmission service). JUST BUY iPhone from Cricket (iPhone 7 for $299). Best Buy did NOT have the Cricket iphone7 and told me it was basically same as TOTALWIRELESS phone -- now stuck with a useless TOTALWIRELESS iPhone 7.
A:AnswerNot immediately.
By FTC ruling a carrier must allow you to unlock your phone. However, for a discounted phone such as this one, the carrier can keep it locked for a period of 1 year to recoup their cost in the phone.
So, you can unlock it; but, not until you have had service for a year.
A:AnswerYes you can, my son took his sim card out of his old Total wireless phone and put it into his new iphone 7! He was able to keep the same phone number. Great phone
