A:AnswerIf you are referring to Apple Lightning-3.5mm Adapter Wht then the answer is no. This adapter is to connect iPhone 7s and later to aux-jack headphones and speakers. In order to connect a newer Mac Air to HDMI you need a USB-C to HDMI adapter. Older Mac Airs (not sure the date of change) need a mini-display port to HDMI adapter.
A:AnswerI am not for sure which iPhone you have but I can tell you from experience that it works great for my iPhone XR that I have. I needed to purchase it to use the AUX in my car as well because I prefer using that over the Bluetooth for some reason.
