A:AnswerNo and you don't need it if you are using it with a MacBook (and Apple Display) as you can use the TouchID on the MacBook. On the other hand, if you are not using a MacBook you can spend more money and buy one with TouchID
A:AnswerSo far it’s worked with everything we’ve used it on. Even a windows laptop. It does work on our girls iPad mini as well. Which we got three years ago. Don’t know the model but it’s an awesome keyboard. Very light and battery last a long time.
A:AnswerI haven’t used this keyboard with an iPad since I have a Magic Keyboard case for my iPad Air 4G. it will work for you as I used the Magic Keyboard without the number pad with my iPad 6th gen. It will pair easily.
