- Answer You will need a USB-C to USB-type 3 male cable. The USB C Thunderbolt connects to your Mac book and the other end USB-type 3 male connects to your CD Writer.

- Answer No, the thunderbolt connection is limited to select devices (it is similar in size to a standard USB connection) and I'm not aware of any iphone with that connector.

- Answer It depends on the model year. Earlier MacBook Air models came with Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 ports and later models came with Thunderbolt 3 ports. See pictures attached for shape of the two different ports.

- Answer You need CAT 5e cable or higher. CAT 6 or CAT 6a would be faster and more prepared for future increases in bandwidth.

QuestionI’m in need of moving pretty big files and have 400Mbps connection at home. USB3 adapters in the past have only gotten me up to maybe 100Mbps transfer speed, 1/4 of what it should be. Does this adapter support higher data rates, say up to 400Mbps?

- Answer It will do 400mbps no problem. (it's rated for a 1GB connection) HOWEVER, your bottleneck is more likely your ISP capping your connection. Do a google speed test on several different devices to see what your connection speed actually is.

- Answer if the device has a t-bolt connection, it in theory, should, but I would call Apple to be sure. The Apple store is very good about these things!
