Q: QuestionMotion DetectionHow close must an object be to trigger the camera? If the camera is on a tree, approximately 50' from the from the door and roughly 15' above the ground, will a person trigger the camera at day/night and how clear will the picture be?

• A:Answer No, the base has a flat bottom, there are no wall mount holes to hang it on a nail or a screw. I guess you could use velcro, but it would have to be something you rig yourself.

Q: QuestionIf you don't have a smart phone?2 bdrm apartment and I believe landlord is snooping while I am out. What security camera system could I use which has night vision, motion detection that I could review on my computer? Where in the heck is the recording stored and am I going to have to pay for the cloud as well? How much will this cost me? I will be moving in a few months regardless and would like to have a system for the future. Thanks!

• A:Answer It has night vision and motion detection, it can be set to this mode (motion) and when detected will record the motion and store it and email it to you to be viewed. No charge, no cloud to pay for.

Q: QuestionCan you use two base systems from one wireless network?Want one 4 package system for interior and one 4 package system for exterior of home, can I buy 2 and use from same wireless network already set up or have to utilize a separate router or?

• A:Answer It comes with its own router however once you get over 5 cameras on one system you must pay a monitoring fee. I would get 2 separate 4 camera systems and set up 2 accounts one for outside and one for inside to avoid paying the monitoring fee

Q: QuestionDoes motion detection work through a window?The VueZone system does not, so I thought I would ask about the Arlo system.

• A:Answer No, the motion detection does not work through a window, and because the infrared lights reflect off of the glass it does not allow you to operate the camera at Night while trying to use it through a window. All you see is a reflection of the infrared light on the camera and it makes it useless if you try to use it through a window

Q: QuestionComputer compatible system OS X iMac w/ modemI do not have a smart phone.... however, my office has a new Mac with OS X El Capitan. Is this a good match for your system with 4 remote cameras. The data goes to the iCloud.. for Apple ? and the software will get it for me if there is an event or I choose to see what has happened recently.

• A:Answer It comes with a handful of indoor magnetic mounts and one outdoor mount that would work on wood and other surfaces. If you want more than one camera outside, you would need to buy additional outdoor mounts. When we purchased them, they were about $20 each.

• A:Answer I would not reccomment that for the mounts because it may fall off the wall due to weather or usage. you want your equipment to stay safely on the wall. those sticky mounts may fail after a while and depending on the wall may not even stick. they have small screws and you can easily just fill in the hole with a small tube of spackle from a hardware or builders store.

• A:Answer I don't know the specific min range (have you checked the specs on the Netgear Arlo site?), but I suspect that if the birds in question are songbirds, then they won't focus nearly close enough. On the other hand, if the birds are eagles, gray owls, condors...then you might be ok. {(-;

• A:Answer The operating temperature is 14° to 122° F (-10° C to 50° C). The camera may not perform optimally in extreme temperatures (tempuratures well below or above the operating temperature) primarily due to the battery constraints. At this time it does not work with Amazon Echo based on my research. You can call 1-800-NETGEAR. They may have more details as to if it will anytime soon.

Q: QuestionDifferent functions per separate cameraI am looking to buy the Arlo system with 4 camera's. One of the cameras will hang outside of my office, facing the street. People walk there 24/7 and I dont want it to record, purely have it for a live stream. is it possible to give seperate cameras, their individual functions? For example, the 3 cameras inside the office start recording while motion is detected. And the one outside, only a live stream? Thanks!

• A:Answer Yes, it's possible. You can set up sensitivity level to capture motion, set up alert and email message, length of recording per camera. and you can do it from your smartphone app or PC.
