A:Answer The Arris SVG2482 is a general-purpose router, plus telephony (voice over IP). If you don't need VoIP it should work fine, provided you're comfortable with the setup process, including making the router's MAC address known to the provider and making any changes needed through the admin screen.
I use it with Comcast/Xfinity. When used with their mobile app I had no issues.
If you need VoIP, or you're unsure about the setup process, then you probably need to find out from the cable provider if they recommend a specific router, and go with that one. If they don't have a recommendation then the Arris should work.
