I purchased the Arris TM822R to no longer pay my internet provider the monthly fees, also. It was reasonably priced with good performance levels, and worked with my internet providers services. I was not happy with the performance of the mixed/combined router and wifi device either, as provided by my internet provider. I purchased a Netgear Nighthawk AC1750 for my home office wifi router needs, and it works very well, at a reasonable price point. My home is about 1500 square feet and it works well indoors and outside on my porches for coverage, with no dead spots. I can recommend both devices from my experience with both of them, from my own use so far, from my home office.

I bought separate wireless router by Netgear AC1000 (~$45)and everything works better than xfinity triple play gateway. When you have everything in one device it has its limitations. Now I have better internet coverage with more coverage area of the house. With triple play I had Cisco modem/wireless router (called gateway) with speeds of 150mbps, with ARRIS TM822R I have 60mbps and I don’t see any issue for me.
