I have Optimum and I tried this modem and it just wouldn't post. The tech on the phone actually recommended Netgear so I got the CM-500 and it works great. I have my own router, too. The only thing is most of these modems that you buy in store do not have the telephone line in the back. I don't have land line anymore so it doesn't matter to me but if you want telephone you'll have to buy one with the phone line in the back. Maybe you can buy it from them?

However, if I have the correct internet provider being Optimum Online then no, this Model: SB6190 will not work. What should work is the following: Model: TM822R SKU: 5839004 currently $139.00 Magic

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The question isn't whether or not it would work with your ISP. TV and Internet are completely separate services, so the cable modem makes no difference to the TV. The problem is that landline phone service is really VOIP (voice over IP), which means it and your Internet service are conjoined twins. This modem doesn't have the hardware to support a phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No this does not work with Optimum Residential Service. There is some information that no one is speaking of and I got it from Optimum themselves. Because the modem is a 32x8 it will never work for residential service. The fastest residential modem you can have is a 16x4, so yes the SB6183 but not the SB6190.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This will only allow internet. Switch to voip phone service or Google voice to save money.
