A:AnswerI paired mine with a Netgear Nighthawk RAX43. It works great with no issues. I have 1gb service through Sparklight and I'm typically pulling 826mb download and 52mb upload through the wifi 5g band. Depending how far the extender is, you may not get great speeds through that device. I have a repeater in my garage and it's pretty far from the router and only puts out about 10mb download and 10-20 mb upload. But that's really no fault of the modem and router, just realize the speed may bottleneck there. Hope that helps.
A:AnswerNever hooked it up cause I order the wrong item and shipped it back to Best Buy and got the right item from Best Buy which was a modem and a router built in to 1. It’s Netgear Nighthawk AX6 WiFi Cable Modem Router.
A:AnswerBest is a very difficult and subjective question. There are three factors to consider: Internet Speed; Phone service required; Router required.
A modem provides the connection between the carrier (ISP) and you. It does not provide the connection between your devices and the internet. This requires a router.
Note that the actual speed you achieve at your device also depends on wireless signal strength and the speed of the device's wireless card. My old computer routinely clocked 3.5 to 10 mbps. Adding the Deco router improved signal strength and speed increased to 15 to 20 mbps. The recommendations below are based on my equipment and my experience.
The first question is DO YOU HAVE A ROUTER? I use the Deco router with 3 repeaters. This gives whole house, yard and garage coverage with a single login and transitions automatically between repeaters (think cell service) as I move around. If you do not have a router then buy a combined Modem/Router to fill your need.
The second question is PHONE SERVICE. If you also get land line phone service from your internet provider then you need a modem that supports Voice over IP. This will limit your choices.
The last question is INTERNET SPEED. Keep in mind that the line speed you purchased will never be achieved. Comcast (Xfinity) basic service is 600 mbps and the current deal gives 800 mbps service. I chose to go with a 1000 mbps router to allow some head room if I upped service speed again. Your router should exceed the rated line speed or you are wasting money. Personally I like some margin for error/expansion so I try to use 80% of the modem speed as the target.
For my situation I have 800 mbps service with phone. I chose NETGEAR - Nighthawk 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Voice Cable Modem because it provides gigabit service. Coupled with the Deco wireless router I get 135 mbps download and 40 mbps upload. Speed test thinks this is very fast.
A:AnswerThis doesn't do wireless. It's just a modem. You need a router in addition - then you can get wireless. It will support pretty high speeds from the cable network, depending on your plan. I'm getting 700Mbps from Comcast/Xfinity, and they have faster plans.
A:AnswerThis product is supported most of the US Cable Service providers. Please check with your specific service provider to ensure this product is supported and matches your service tier.
