I had this laptop over the weekend and ultimately returned due to personal reasons, but I've played Overwatch on XB1 and on this PC. I'd say that they are on par with each other, but my XB1 was connected via Ethernet and my PC wasn't. That made a huge difference for me. In terms of rendering/buffering/graphics, though, no lag or choppiness in my experience.

Older single player games probably, but some newer single player games can push even top of the line desktop hardware to their limits. For example, Rise of the Tomb Raider struggles to go above 60 FPS on a top of the line Desktop when played at max graphics. If you can deal with slightly lowered graphical options, it will absolutely run better, although, for single player games, I would only really look for a consistent 30+ FPS, as high framerates are not nearly as important as they are for multiplayer games.
