I have the original Vive. the GPU in this laptop will give you no trouble with VR. The Rift S might run a tad worse than my Vive because of the resolution, but it shouldn't be much of a problem. Where you might run into trouble is the CPU. Between the headset and the game it can get fairly hot. Subnautica thermal throttle'd it for me. Depending on the VR games you want to play and your ambient temps you may be better off getting a desktop.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.only first gen vr and the quest. and to be honest since the quest is second gen vr you can expect longer support for it over time. also it depends on what exactly you want. do you feel like setting up lighthouses for the vive which can provide you an upgrade path to the valve index controllers? or do you prefer the oculus touch controllers. the cosmos do not get, the tracking is not that good and the controllers are just ripoffs of the oculus touch controllers. the other headsets you will run into the same as i did, the index and the rift s use DisplayPort only, not hdmi which is the only video output that this laptop has. if you are looking for inside out tracking i highly recommend the oculus quest and a link cable i listed the official link cable but you can use the anker usb type c cable that is meant for 5gbs pull.
I would recommend:
