Without question, the ASUS RT-AC68P. This thing rocks and won't be obsolete next year. Works with ALL my devices on 2.4GHz and all my devices that support 5GHz (both Wireless N and Wireless AC). It also gives you wireless storage (attach USB 3.0 HDD to USB 3.0 port) and wireless printing (USB2.0). It's easy to use (the management UI is easy to navigate) and it has a TON of nice tweakable features. If you don't want to mess with anything you still get excellent performance and it has a nice First-Run Setup wizard to make things easy. GREAT product!

This ASUS AC1900 is the bomb, especially for gaming streaming, etc. with nearly no lag.

It depends on the size of your home and your devices. If you have a large home and you have 802.11ac capable devices, this is the best router out there, per my research. If you don't have 802.11ac capable devices, I'd recommend the ASUS RT-N66U.

Hard to answer without more details. Apple airport extremes work well but have limited functionally for more advanced users. Currently running an Asus myself & it appears to be an excellent unit. Stay away from netgear & bel kin products

I'm about to buy the Apple Airport Extreme. It's AC and if you research it was some pretty good reviews and specs. It might have 3 ports instead of four but you can easily buy a switch. If you want more control over your router then look somewhere. Apple refurbished cost around $169

I have had great experience with ASUS routers. I had the RT-66 (wireless N) and RT-68 (Wireless AC)

Speed: Great
Range: Great
Devices: ~20 no issues
Software is very customizable
Price: Expensive

The only downsize is price. The RT-66 is now decently priced since its an older model and would be my recommendation.
