“Can a large hard Drive be hooked up to the USB3 and act like a NAS? I'm trying to decide between setting up a 16TB NAS or a large external HD RAID, and someone told me that if my router has a fast connection (i.e., USB 3.0) than an HD or RAID would act very much like a NAS and would always be accessible for media files, whereas hooking up the drive or RAID as an external HD to a computer means the computer must be left on to access media files. If so, I'd replace my router!”
