I have a Lenovo running a 3GHz Intel Pentium processor running Win8 and would like to know if this card will work in my system since I have a 5.1 surround speaker system which is wasted on this PC's stereo output.”

Works on any PC with an empty PCLE. Works Great on this -------- I'm running Windows 10. It has an AMD 8350, 8 core, black edition processor cooled by a cooler master V8. The mother board is an ASUS Crosshair V formula Z. It has 64 gigs of FAST G-Skill Ram cooled by Corsair cooling unit. Video is provided by two EVGA GTX1080 FTWs configured in SLI with a high performance EVGA, SLI bridge. It has a Seagate 4T hybrid main drive and two Seagate 4T auxiliary drives, Twelve Terabytes total. Power is supplied by a Corsair AX 860 modular power supply. There are a total of 12 fans inside. It has 2 remote control lighting systems. And gingerbread stuff like a card reader, Pro LCD, combination optical drive. Not much room for anything else. I am a 67 year old, semi- retired engineer but I love videos and I LOVE TO GAME.
