A:AnswerYou can link it to NEST. The other systems would have to be linked through IfTTT app which requires a subscription for this device. This unit connects to the Wi-Fi I did not but any bridge or anything else that wasn't included in this box. The only thing I would have to do to get it to work with the hue bridge is activate the subscription with the manufacturer of this device. It should work with NEST right out of the box.
A:AnswerIt does not connect to wifi unless you've the August Connect hub.
You can use a key (goes over the backside of your existing deadbolt) or naturally turn the August to lock/unlock like a thumb latch.
Bluetooth needs no wifi, and will still connect to your phone if your in range
A:AnswerBest Buy does not sell the original generation lock, so the 2nd generation lock shows up as the "retrofit" and the 3rd generation shows up as the "Pro" model. Hope this helps!
A:AnswerYou can unlock the door “buzz them in” but then re-lock the door once they are in. When it’s time to leave they can manually unlock the door or you can do it electronically. Then again it must be re-locked either manually or electronically. Hope this helps. Sounds like you want a system that isn’t a dead bolt.
A:AnswerThis is the 2nd generation, the main difference that i know of is the door sensor that comes with the package that helps the lock to know if the door is physically open or closed
A:AnswerThe August Smart Lock Pro is 3.5 inches in diameter and 2.25 inches deep. It's also the same diameter of a Starkist Tuna can and just under 2 tuna cans deep.
A:AnswerThis product will only work with an August bridge (sold separately)or with Apple TV as a bridge. I tried Apple TV as a bridge and it only worked with home kit
A:AnswerYou can set up multiple users. You can give different people full permission or down to a single use.
If you set up the geofencing it will automatically lock and unlock when you leave/arrive. It recognizes the user through the smartphone with Bluetooth.
Hope this helps.
A:AnswerNo it's a simple add on cover that goes over your existing deadbolt on the inside of the door as a retrofit. Installs in under 5 to 10 minutes at the most. You can see several installation videos on YouTube to see how easy it is.
A:AnswerMost of the common brands work. If you know what kind of lock you have go to their website and they have a list.
You can also call them and they have adapters for less common locks.
