A:Answer Not quite sure which part exactly you mean but if it's the small square part on top under lid, we just shake it out a bit after every two vacuums. (We have a pet so vacuum maybe 4x week quickly especially when pet sheds often). So far only had this vacuum for a month and no problems yet (only find hose bit shorter then my last brand vacuum, but find cleaning on this one much better). Any ways, havent done it with this one yet but from what I gather plus similar to my last one, after dust it out or take soft older tooth brush to brush off main dirt/dust, Id say maybe every 2 months to soak it in some warm water with suds and then let it dry before putting it back. According to directions this is what I read as well, but I would've assumed it even with no directions. Also I understand if it gets real dirty after awhile even with soaking regularly, that best to buy new one (so basically bit of judgement call). As for other long bin part, after shaking it out each vacuum, I do see bits of dust dirt on groove areas but as long as not blocking I shake it real well, take quick tooth brush over it while its dry, and then just put piece back inside holder. Plan to sud rinse it every month. Hope this helps.
