Q: QuestionWhat is the range of the motion sensor?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The motion detection on these cameras is very weak. Most camera mounting locations are going to be 10 feet off the ground, so that eats up 10 feet and then they may reach out another 10 feet if you are lucky. They are worthless. I bought 8 of them and may end up throwing them away.

Q: QuestionI purchased the XT2 bundle over the summer and was told I would have free cloud storage. This was my motivation for choosing this system over others. Now I have to pay for a subscription?!?!?! Can I add the new module and a USB stick to save locally?
Asked by Bob.
- A:Answer The Blink XT, XT2, and legacy Indoor cameras will continue to receive the existing free cloud storage. Any Blink Mini, Blink Indoor and Blink Outdoor system/camera added to a Blink account created after 4/15/2020 will require either local storage via the Sync Module 2 or a subscription for cloud storage to save videos after the free trial of the Blink Cloud Subscription Service has ended.

- A:Answer You are able to adjust your camera settings, view video clips, receive notifications, and access live view through the App on your compatible mobile device from anywhere as long as you have a WIFI or cellular connection. This is important to note for your cellular data plan, watching a five second motion clip without WIFI connection will use about 750KB of your data plan.

This question was asked about the related product: Blink - 5 Outdoor (3rd Gen) Wireless 1080p Security System with up to two-year battery life - Black
- A:Answer As long as you have wifi and a compatible mobile device, the Blink Systems/Kits would ship with everything needed to get set-up and started. If you plan to use the local storage option with the sync module 2 you would need to purchase a USB flash drive separately. The Blink Outdoor cameras have an operating temperature range of -4° to 113° F (-20° to 45° C). They are IP-65 rated to ensure that the water-resistant unit delivers clear, HD quality video no matter the forecast.

This question was asked about the related product: Blink - 5 Outdoor (3rd Gen) Wireless 1080p Security System with up to two-year battery life - Black
- A:Answer Mine pick up motion about 30/40 yards out and sound about 20/30 yards out. The issue you may have is how far the cameras can be from the central HUB they need to communicate with in order to work. The furthest camera from my HUB is less than 30 yards and it works great.

Q: QuestionWILL CURRENT BLINK XT2 SYSTEM BE DISCONTINUED?
Asked by SIDEBYSIDE.
This question was asked about the related product: Blink - Outdoor (3rd Gen) Wireless 1080p Security Camera with up to two-year battery life - Black
- A:Answer Since Blink has launched a new camera we can expect that the Blink XT2 system might be purposefully out of stock so that they are not competing with their own product. Given that the new camera has the same chip, same battery system, a few software upgrades, a lighter unit (maybe due to cheaper materials), and a required monthly membership for storage (yay! - sarcasm). Even the dullest blade in the room would recognize that their predecessor the Blink XT2 is obviously a better choice, so to not compete with themselves I expected it to be temporarily unavailable..... Maybe permanently. Buy the XT2 if you still can, they are much better as you have the option to not pay a monthly subscription.
