Yes you can use the noise canceling by itself without having it plugged into a device. I will warn you however that when there is no sound coming out of the headphones and the noise canceling is engaged, there is a very quiet but noticeable hiss/high pitched whine that can be heard without some form of sound covering it up. Depending on your age you may not be able to hear the quiet whine, but you will probably notice the hiss.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the ear buds have independent battery power and don't have to be plugged into a device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can wear/use them in the noise cancellation mode without being " plugged" into anything. I do the same thing on airplanes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The noise cancellation feature of the QC20/QC20i headphones can be activated whether or not they are connected to another device. They do not require music for the noise cancellation to function. Thanks!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, they work well not plugged into anything. They may not completely drown out talking but they definitely reduce the sound. At the Best Buy where I bought them I could have returned them (used) within 15 days and got a full refund. That made me much more comfortable about buying them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. I believe these work as noise cancellation only, but they work best with continuous repeating noise, like say a fan. For the cost and duration, I would just recommend earplugs like those used for shooting or earmuffs for construction workers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, if you turn on the headphones not plugged into anything at all the noise cancelling activates.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, they work great. I often turn them on just so I can't hear the plane. They work great. There are some noises you will hear, but they sound like little tiny voices, far far away.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes and they are light enough not to fall out of ears.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it will. Just make sure the noise canceling in turned on.
